my sis actually got me hooked on the books! she was a rabid HP fan and forced me to read the books

Half of my friends at college are too intent on appearing mature to do stuff like read kids books!!! They annoy me sometimes!

Serve them right, please, they don't even listen to me. When I say I enjoyed reading HP they just give me a bit pitiful look
ok, ok, a family friend and her daughter also read the books and saw the movies but HP doesn't employ their imagination that much

But I managed to make my mom read all the books and she enjoyed them though she still confuses who's who between Marauders and also between Ministry employees: Fudge, Crouch etc.
Of course I fully explain her everything she wants to know (and more;). When book 5 came out I tried to read it to her aloud and translate simultaneously but she refused
So I had to wait for 6 months till our translation came out And I couldn't tell my mom for Sirius' death all this time cause I wanted her to enjoy the surprise
I also dragged her to the cinema and she liked the PoA movie

My mom likes best the trio and Hagrid, just like JKR. Me, on the other hand, I like Phineas, Bella, the Malfoys --> evil ones and between goodies I like trouble- and mischief-makers

I don't have the ''significant other'' since Phineas is an already dead fictional character *feeling sorry for myself:P* But anyway I'd just argue with him so I sincerely enjoy being single and hope it doesn't change. Well, you're already used to Reverie's weird ideas, right

Sorry for double post - I just remembered I did injustice to my mummy: she actually figured out a theory - completely on her own
She's a keen botanist so she had the flower theory about Lily, Petunia and Naricssa
I was very sorry to displease her - JKR canceled this theory in an interview

I read them in this order: 3,2,1,4 and 5.


I own PoA and GoF (my faves).
My sister owns CoS and OotP.
My brother owns PS (which is a shame because he has had it for years and... well you just can't pay that kid to read).

well, my cuz told me of hp when i was 13 so i decided to check it out. i bought the first book, loved it, bough the next two, loved them. in a span of six months (before the fourth book came out) i had successfully turned over 12 people to hp fanatics! i'm good!

I'm married to a non-reader. he only reads when absolutely necssary.
But he likes the movies. On the plus side I work with a huge group of
"Harry Potterfiles" . We celebrate his birthday every year with a pot
luck complete with cake and ice cream, We have gone to the movies
on the opening day, and have waited in line to buy the books when
they are first released. It's really quite fun being a grown up kid.

I got my husband to read up to book 4. He was hooked until Diggory died. He was really upset and refused to read book 5!! It is driving me crazy! I'm pretty sure he is just trying to torture me. I have no one to talk about it with except my little bro who works all the time. I finally broke him down and he started reading book 5. He only made it to chapter 7 Someone told him that another person dies so he stopped reading!! I told him it was Snape thinking it would make him read more but he has it in his mind that it's Hagrid so he refuses!! Any suggestions on how to trick him into reading the rest of the book would be much appreciated!

All of my family read the books; Me, my brother, my sister, mum, dad and even my 84 year old grandma. We all love them so much that we squabble about who gets to read the new book first so for OotP we had to buy two!

I bought the first three books as a christmas present for a friend of mine. My father decided that since that friend (who doesn't read) won't appreciate these books, so I decided to make it a christmas present for my sister. She read them first and then I read them, ever since then I've been hooked.

My brother isn't a reader, but he still read them just because, and I suppose he enjoys them then, but only then, when the book comes out.

My sister reads everything, so yeah she likes and enjoys them and all.

My mother despises fantasy, so no.

And my father has read them but he's got a poor memory and if I asked them about it he'd probably reply, "Harry who-?".
