New Zealand... oh yes, there's a new entry into the Sundance film festival. The first since Whale Rider for us.

Film festivals showcase small films, not the big multi-million dollar Hollywood blockbusters. Well not this one, anyway.

The thing about Whale Rider was that it really struck an emotional cord with its viewers, and even the overseas viewers knew they were seeing something special when they were watching it.

Hmm I suppose I could see how that would happen. It is a very sad tale when you think about it. I'm not sure it would have been as successful without the high calabre of actors in it, though. Still can't get over Keisha getting nominated for Best Actress..
