I think Hermione will be killed off.

Who do you like best and who could you definately live without? Will there be romance in the air for any of them and who will end up with who?

I think Hermione will be killed off.

I Think Hermione would be a big Target to the Death Eaters as she is a Mugblood that is exceptionally powerful And therefore undermines there theory that Pure Blood Wizards are more superior. Can't say I'll be sad to see her go as she is a bit annoying.

And I wont be sorry to see you go... Besides, Hermione is too smart to die by Death Eater. She's lived so far

Yeah, she wount be killed, likely willl get saved by Ron at one point though, (considering they are not yet a couple, there will likely be something to set it off)

I hope that none of the trio dies. It would just be too sad :( .

As for Hermione being a target; I'm sure that there are dozens of muggle born wizards and witches. I don't see why they should go after Hermione specificly, unless it were an extreme situation; for instance, an important prophercy regarding her).

well she will definitly be an important target. mostly because she is a friend of harry potter and many de might think that he's streangth will be weakened if she is dead. this because they will always be there (ron and hermione i mean) to help harry out, they will work as a team. and snape said to bellatrix something like harry only made it out of difficult situation thanks to a lot of luck and more talented friends (i think it's obvious he was refering to hermione). so yes she is a target. but i think she is too talented to be caught unprepared and be killed.

I disagree, I think he was referring to Dumbledore. While Hermione is certainly valuable to have as a friend, the talents to which he would be referring are stuff like researching and thinking. True, Harry doesn't have much talent in either of those fields, but I think more is necessary to make a comment so bold.

Dumbledore is the one that made sure that they all knew how to get through to the Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone.

Dumbledore gave Harry that all important piece of advice that allowed Harry to win the fight against the basilisk.

Dumbledore told them how to free Sirius and Buckbeak with another of his cryptic hints. (Though Hermione is the one that sucessfully interpreted it.)

Dumbledore saved him at the Ministry hearing.

Dumblefore also put those protections on him and has also taught him things that will help as Harry progresses.

I also think that Lily was included because of her protection on Harry.

Harry's other friends have certainly helped him, and he never would have been able to get this far without their help (although some of Dobby's help, even with the gillyweed, could have been omitted for Harry's sake) he never would have been able to stay alive this long or do many of the magnificent things that he's done. (Luna's help with the thestrals could have been left as well, because Sirius would still be alive.)

[Comments in the brackets should be discarded in comments, because I know it would have changed the whole story and I don't want to get into a big debate over all that, I was just putting them for my own personal want, and perhaps make someone giggle over remembrances of Harry losing the bones in his arm ultimately because of Dobby.]

ooh when I read that I thought of Hermione like Sunset did. I didn't think of DD and personally I don't think he meant DD either. I'm sure it said in the book that he looked at Hermione or something. Can't remember which book that was in now.

I have a theory to the same effect (Hermione's in danger), but I don't think she'll die. It's http://www.broomsticksandowls.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4383&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0, but you should be aware that it is in the Half-Blood Prince section and therefore may contain spoilers.

I think the whole trio will ne killed off. Or just Harry. But DEFINATELY not Hermione alone, or Ron for that matter.

Seems unlikely.

I think JKR might at some stage make us believe one of them's dead... but not really.

ooooo...... that's an idea... normally I would say I don't think she'd "pretend" to have someone die, but that one strikes me as a possibility...

I certainly don't see Hermione dying off by herself as a possibility. Her death, would seem catastrophic to me. It's like killing off Samwise Gamgee.

I dunno, if Harry's off to face Lv without DD for protection, I'd think he'd die, maybe seconds after killing LV. That would be a happy ending because he would get his last desperate wish: to see LV die.

I seem to have misread again.

GOSH! I really should get these glasses [that I don't have] checked... :-?

How can Harry dying at all be a happy ending?
