The HP is anti-christian seems to be more of an issue in the U.S. than in the UK, so you tend not to ear about it being banned over here.

Hi Aberforth, I agree that it is more of an issue in the states but it has come up here in the UK. For example when HBP was launched I remember reading that a Harry Potter fancy dress day was cancelled at a school because HP was anti-christian. I've also heard that some schools won't do readings of the book in the classes.

It's a sad day when fiction is over-ruled by religion I think.

Too true. I think many teachers are concerned that someone will complain and they will get into trouble for it. The politically correct culture in the UK is the problem, whereas, from my limited knowledge of the USA being based on films), it seems in the smaller towns that the moral majority rules the roost and hold a lot of sway over local law enforcement.

Yeah it's really sad isn't it that we've finally reached a time where teachers feel they have to put a stop to activities for fear of being sued. Crazy!
