I'm newish and have never participated in a quiz. Sounds like it could be fun so I'm in.

(Have to say I'm dreadful at pub quizzes though)

Removed some posts (for the second time due to the server problems) - May I state that if you have a problem with a particular members posts please PM them, or a moderator and don't bad-mouth them on the threads. It detracts from the thread topic and I personally don't like it.

If I see anyone cursing, bullying, bad-mouthing etc another member I will not be a nice person and you will be considered for warning and, if severe, banning from the forum.

Please keep BaO a nice and civil place where people who enjoy HP can come and talk about the books without fear of recrimination.

Thanks again Gwared. I'd certainly like to get something up and running again for members of earn House points so I'm hoping to be able to restart the Quiz soon. I can't promise that it'll be each month, as it takes a surprisingly large amount of time to organise, check and score the quiz, but probably we can do one every two or three months if that's OK.

I think that the last time we were doing the quizz, the Slytherins were winning. But I'm not sure... There used to be counts.

As far as I can tell the last set of questions left the points at

Current total House Points
Slytherin 28 and a half points
Ravenclaw 25 and three quarter points
Gryffindor 18 and a quarter points
Hufflepuff 17 and a half points

And how are hufflepuff last? and how do you get points exactly?

because ravenclaw and slytherin have the most active members.

Hufflepuff are last because for long enough we had only a few inactive members and an inactive moderator till I joined the forum and got tricked into joining Hufflepuff...it was only after I joined Hufflepuff that I realised I was its only active member and had to drag all my friends in to get it active, we have been playing catch up ever since.

How do we get points? The house who got the highest points with the previous set of questions sets us 5 questions and we have to provide the answers to each question along with the book, book version, chapter and page number...we get half marks for the correct answer and half for the correct page reference too (page references were brought in to disuade people from just using the fan websites instead or searching the books themselves).

Paul marks the answers btw....the house prefects organise getting the answers for their own house. I'm sure if it ever restarts Paul will give us the rules again since the prefects have changed alot since the quiz died because the houses were too inactive to get answers or make questions.
