Phantom of the Opera

Postby Ginny Potter » Wednesday 24 August 2005 3:01:21am

LOVE it! I've seen the musical twice, seen the movie, and am about the see the musical again (I know, I'm a fanatic!) with a married couple I'm friends with who have never seen it before. I am STOKED! :D

Does anyone else love Phantom the musical, the music, and/or the movie? I think it's a beautiful story with amazing music (though, I'm a musician myself, so I may be a wee bit biased  ) and very watchable. If you liked the movie, the musical's even better...it's so dramatic. But then, I love musical theatre...I love the pit orchestra, the sets, the costumes, the whole getting dressed up for an afternoon or evening at the theatre, the whole experience!

Surely, SOMEONE else at BaO loves Phantom--or at least, musical theatre--as much as I do!

I saw Phantom a few months ago in London, thought it was okay (may surprise you but I didn't realise the ending / story at all - didn't realise Phantom was a bad guy)
Cats was amazing when I saw it, by far best Webber tunes in mho.
Loved Lion King too.

I got asked to be in a musical Beauty in the Beast just recently, but I said no because I would miss my sisters wedding next year when it starts travelling around...

I love Phantom of the Opera... I quite like some of the parodical opera's that take the mickey out of it too... and there are quite a few.
Songs are fantastic, creates such a wonderful atmosphere.
