I am reading all of them again at the moment and read PS/SS last night. I can't believe we've been so stupid! The signs were there in the last chapter about DD dying! He said to Harry something along the lines of
"for the well-organised wizard death is the start of a new adventure" Harry then repeats this exact phrase to Ron and Hermione.
I'd like to know what he means by a new adventure.
Also, when I first read the bit where DD died, I thought DD had taken Polyjuice potion (or at least I was secretly hoping anyway but when the portrait appears, I decided to rule that out. Especially now after reading this line in PS/SS.
