What's your favorite nickname?

Postby Mrs. Luca Black » Monday 15 August 2005 8:32:55pm

HBP brough a few new and very interesting nicknames into the series.
So which one is your favorite?

Is it Gred and Forge?
Or the classic Marauder Moony, Prongs, and Padfoot?
Do you like the clear meaning of Wormtail?
Or the pompousness of the Half Blood Prince?
Oooh, or is it the sickening Won-Won!?

I know my favorite is Roonil Wazlib!

i guess i voted for won won...just because it sound so stupid. it really gave me a laugh...i imagined ron's face when called like that...seriously...i would have hit her in the face with a broom stick that i've been messing around in dragon poo to call me won won...but it was really funny for ronm to get that nickname...

I physically laughed out loud when I heard Won Won!! Brilliant. Actually I thought JKR's humour really came out in HBP. I hope there are some laughs in the last book. I know that it will probably be quite a serious end but it would be a shame.

I'd like to hear what nicknames she would invent for Neville, Seamus, Dean and Crabbe and Goyle. Maybe we can think up some for her...

My favorite is Roonil Wazlib, just cause of the moment, when Snape reads it.

I like the nickname "Moony". It's nothing special, but it sounds so nicely and it really suits Lupin, not just because of him being wereworlf and being influenced by moon.

As for Won-Won, I laughed a lot at that one!

And Half-Blood Prince is such a strange nickname, isn't it? You see, it's Snape, a (former?) Death Eater who is supposed to value "pure blood" and yet he calls himself "half blood". I was thinking that maybe the Prince family was referring to him like that... (if they ever talked about him).

Oh, and Padfoot is nice too.

I voted for the HBP, just because it's the kind of ridiculously cocky nicknames i give myself, (The Franchise, Human Highlight Reel, Sweetest Feet East of the Mississippi, Prime Time, The Clown Prince)

Most of which i stole from somewhere

I chose Won-Won. That was beyond funny. I could just imagine Lavendar saying that in front of everyone in the Gryffindor common room while Ron flushed redder than his hair. And, I agree, Fred and George would have been relentless if thay had found out about it. It just made things even worse for Ron, serves him right though.
