On the lightning struck tower it's clear that Dumbledore will die whatever happens. If Snape didn't kill DD, then he himself would be killed by the vow, Malfoy would fail the test and either the other Death Eaters (especially Greyback) would finish DD off or he would die of the poison anyway without Snape's help.

Dumbledore's mercy saves Malfoy and Snape and also allows Snape to become much closer and trusted by Voldemort.

Well said...and worth repeating.

I had a bit of a thought earlier today. Chances are that Harry will need to learn a little about curse breaking. After all, the Horcruxes are likely to be protected by them. Who can we think of that could teach Harry a thing or two about curse breaking?
Bill Weasley of course.

Yes, Bill would be a good choice, we haven't heard that much about him, but he's likable in an unexplainable way. I wonder if any of the other Weasley's will have a bigger role, besides Ron.

Yeah that's interesting.. Also I'd like to hear about Charlie. JKR said that we would also learn more about someone who we know is a member of the Order. We know they're a member but don't know about them yet. It's a character she likes though. Does she mean Charlie (who is working on stuff abroad), Snape (for obvious reasons) or Moody (as we've never really met the real Moody), Kingsley, Diggle or someone else?

i think there must be a reason that petunia hated her sister SO much and led to her treatment towards harry, maybe whatever it is will be punishment enough...

I want to see them at least get engaged. It won't matter if Ginny is underage (she won't be 17 until August 11, and going by the usual timeline, that would be the beginning of the 8th book if there was one), because I think the Weasleys would give Ginny to Harry right now.

I think a wedding so soon would be a bit much, but engagement at least. I want them to have a big, happy wedding, not a rushed elopement.

I think leaving them in a position of an assumed wedding would be fitting.
I think being the Durseleys and living is their own world, regardless of proff of other things is the dursley's self punishment (like DD saying they have mistreated Dudley.)
