*Werewolves are killed by silver
*Wormtail was given a silver hand
*Wormtail will use his silver hand to kill Lupin
Anyone agree?

Eeek - it does sound very possible. I hadn't figured on the werewolf-killing property of silver. I do hope your wrong though as I really like Lupin.

Why? Why kill Lupin? It doesn't make any sense . . . I mean, the theory itself makes sense, but the theory relative to the rest of the books doesn't.
Lupin wasn't that important besides for being a sort of father figure to Harry, was he? I don't remember Rowling ever mentioning a special significance to him.

errr. . . . what I meant to say was, why would Voldemort want to kill Lupin in the first place?

I think, if it did happen, that Wormtail would do it not on Voldemorts orders but because he wanted too. I mean Lupin helped try to stop him getting back to Voldermort in the first place and when they were at school he always wanted to be like him? I dont know if it would happen though. Hope it doesnt coz i like Lupin too.

well Lupin obviously is important, he was in the same circle of people as James and Sirius
James got killed, and how do you know they werent all part of this Order of the Pheonix, and then there may just be the...Lupin witnessed the the bit where Sirius proved that he was innocent and that Peter had betrayed James....so stands to reason that Peter is gonna want rid of him

I don't think killing Lupin is going to make Harry glad... unless of course Lupin turns out to be evil and Harry wants to dispose of him (Moody turning evil was bad enough thank you very much =P )

As far as I know, JKR said quite a few times that our dear Lupin is to play a bigger role in book 5
![:D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
Whatever he does could give Voldie a reason to try and get rid of him. There doesn't necessarily have to be a hint of it in the books we've read so far...to me, it seems to be quite an interesting plot...

I'm sure you know this already, Muscat, but I just wanted to clarify:
It wasn't really Moody, right? It was Barty Crouch Jr. acting as Moody via the Polyjuice potion.

I have a question: when the silver hand flew out of Voldemort's wand in GoF, was it just meant as the spell that wand had performed or does it suggest that Womtail has really lost the hand?

no, it's just a spell he performed, were your theory correct that wormtail lost the hand, Cedric, Bertha Jorkins, the old man, and Harry's parents would all be raised from the dead

Yes, but death is the only thing that can't be "cancelled" so to say, as far as I understood. That's why we only see these eschos instead of real people. A hand is something different...

I believe this theory will become true, it makes a lot of sense, but we won't know till book seven, because Jo said Lupin is playing a small role in book five, and a big one in book seven.
