Maybe it's an odd question, but being not a native English speaker, I have no idea what "gobstones" mean. It's mentioned in HBP that Eileen was once the Captain of the Hogwarts Gobstones Team...

It sorta means theese little stones that I think you try and hit out of a circle...

But they are little marble like stones which you play a game with...I dont really know what they are either???!

Har...I'd always assumed it was a made up game with a made up name...sort of like the word muggles.

I wondered about the gobstones, too. There's an entry in the HP lexicon, and it quite seems like a made up game. Harry once was offered to buy a golden set of gobstones, I believe. However, have a look at the HP lexicon.

Yes, it is a made up game mentioned briefly in either the third or first book. It's a game like marbles, but offending pieces spray a foul smelling liquid art you when your opponent scores on you

I think they are a bit bigger than marbles - like the size of a bludger.

gobstones are sup[posed to marbles but they squirt some gros stuff in your opponents face when you lose points

i should know i just bought a set of the candy they were named for jkr was obviously unaware of how sour the taste is they smell fine to me and my family and my friends are begging for me to give them even one they've been around fo fourteen years

never try biting 1 they are like liquid filled stones
