I agree Stumpy. HP will take out LV, but will have to destroy the horcruxes first so he's on equal terms. he will have to research them though but I'm not sure how. I don't think he'll be able to work this out in books because these items will be very personal to LV though he might be able to obtain clues about the trinkets he might choose. I don't think he will return to Hogwarts to study but he might visit Dumbledore's new portrait in McGonagall's office...

I think there's also got to be more in the last book about the connection of the wands.

Also I read in another feed somewhere on here about someone else's theory on Falkes. I don't know what happens to Phoenix's when their masters die but do we really think we've seen the end of him?

There's got to be a break-out at Azkaban, Dementors and Giants will reappear, werewolves will also come out - the final showdown will have all the key characters there plus all of those that have been turned to Voldemort.

I can't believe that JK would just leave them out there roaming the world to continue Voldemort's work after he dies. The moral of the story is always good outweigh's evil. I've never known another author say it any other way.

I think the only person who can/will kill LV will be HP so I disagree with menotyoo about Snape killing LV. He would have done it years ago before Harry came on the scene.

The question is whether Harry and Voldemort both die. Neither can survive when the other one lives...

I agree I think that they've gotta take the battle to him as each time it has come to them! Lupin i think will be v much in charge of the order esp wit wit his new relationship wit tonks given him added confidence in himself. Mad eye gotta do sank as not really existant in this, and rons oldest brother and percy as well

before they can go to war he has to find and destroy those remaining horcruxes. exept for hufflepuffs cup, wat are they, where are they and how can they be detroyed? otherwise there really isn't any point in going to battle, i would think

i doubt snape will be able to persuade harry that he's good, especially now that harry knows who told voldie about the profecie and saw him kill dd and all the other stuff

Yeah that is true, but i dont see how JKR is going to put it all in one book though! A war, 4 horcruxs still to find (1 of which is not where its sposed to be, battle wit LV, sorting out loose ends from other books, LVs death, aftermath, Harry and Ginny
its to much!!!

I think that in order for Harry to learn how to do killing curses and jinxes there must be one more fatherish figure in the book. He may only last for a few chapters or so but the person needs to be there to teach Harry. After that the person may get killed by Voldemort and set Harry off. You know kinda as the last straw? Harry will get so tired of his loved ones being killed that he'll set out to finish Voldemort off. He'll just snap.

You people continue to assume that Harry has to learn the unforgivable curses to end Voldermort. I think there are ways that Harry's going to learn in his travels; and I think Harry knows more spells than he lets on right now. He knows sectusempra which is very powerful. But imagine if he could learn the dragon slave, it'd make things so much easier

I think we will see a more take charge Harry. I believe that this is the end to the father figures like DD and Sirius. I do most definitely think that Harry does have a lot to learn, spells, control of spells, resisting spells, etc. But, I believe his discoveries and delvings into his magical edu will be initiated by Harry himself in the last book. He has already mapped himself out a crude sort of plan. He is not relying on anyone anymore. He didn't ask Ron and Hermione to join him, they invited themselves.

Harry will need a little more advice from older witches and wizards. He will need to do research on spells and curses, jinxes. But, I think he is coming into his own and there will be no more parent figures to the extent that DD and Sirius were. He'll still learn from other people, but it will be on his terms. Also, I think he has all the last straws he can handle. I don't think he needs any more deaths for him to be serious and dedicated to the task before him.

I'm excited to see how mature he will be in book 7.

The horcruxes are:

the Gaunts' ring (already destroyed), LV's diary (already destroyed), Slytherin's locket (possibly destroyed), Hufflepuff's cup, Nagini, and something of Ravenclaw's or Gryffindor's (DD thought it would be Rclaw's)

the 7th and final hcrx is LV himself, who can't be destroyed until all the others are.

There is a longer thread on this subject called "Horcrux counting"

Harrry can still try to destroy the 7th Horcrux in Voldemort whenever he wants, it's just that even if he does it won't matter.
Hang on... What if he does destroy the 7th in Voldemort. Voldemort would exist in the other horcruxes only, so doing so would destroy his body and put him back in the situation he used to be in. It wouldn't really happen though because Harry isn't a strong enough wizard to do anything just yet. If he did though, all he would have to do would be to track down the minor horcruxes and destroy them, and that's that.
Of course that's just what Harry's planning to do, swapping the first task with the final.
Has anyone thought The Sorting Hat might be one?

I agree with it not being a unforgivable curse because if you remeber when he tried to do it to Harry it reversed back on him! but that didnt kill his spirit so like the other horcruxes there must be a special way of killing his soul

but DD must have left clues or answers for harry like how to destroy the horcruxes. as so many people have said, it was like he knew he was going to die that night. i think he would've been well-prepared and left behind important information that will guide harry to destroy VD. i don't think DD would abandon harry even in death.

maybe fawkes will be the guide that DD will leave to harry. JK said she couldn't say anything about fawkes role in book 7 cos it gave too much away. so as always in her interviews it's what she doesn't say that's important so fawkes has not disappeared. yay!!! i love fawkes
