I hope he is. He would be able to tell Harry how to destroy Horcruxes. But, his note said that he was sure he would die soon. He may be dead. There is no telling when that note was left.

But, it'd be great if he was in book 7. That might make it a bit easier for JKR to wrap it up, though I wish it would never end. :double jump:

There must be some magical way to dat it! that would make it easier for JKR to wrap it all up in the last book as he will have assistance from some with experience and obvious problem solving skills to discover LV had horcruxes. Plus he had the cheek to try and wind him up as well

I want it to be Regulus. But that's too obvious. Hopefully I'm wrong. And that locket reference in OotP is curious.

eh...how could it be Regulus Black? He died a few days after he deserted Voldemort. He doesn't seem to be that powerful to me.

I guess it would have to be a new person. R.A.D. We need Hermione to research in the Hogwarts library once more!

I don't think that JKR would take the trouble to introduce a new character. I mean that there is a lot of ground to cover in the seventh book, without having to introduce a new character.. provide some sort of background for the character.. consumes precious story time!

Dunno who RAB is though.. could be Regulus Black. May be he just had enough time to destroy the horcrux (or atleast remove it from the hiding place) before Voldemort and co. caught up with him and killed him.

Perhaps the last book will be all about redemption, this RAB was a DE who turned against Voldy and destroyed a Horcrux (can't seem to ever spell that right), Snape was a DE, and turned to the good, then maybe the bad again (if he wasn't just pretending all along). Maybe Harry is going to find more and more people who have turned on Voldy, the whole "anyone can change" bit. Yikes, just reminded of Rocky IV <shudders>

I do believe that JK said that no new characters are introduced in book seven. I think it's Regulus, but obviously I could be wrong. I read on a website that JKR said that Regulus is dead, but I'm not sure if she actually said that, but he probably would be if Voldie said he was.
