harry and ginny!!

Who do you like best and who could you definately live without? Will there be romance in the air for any of them and who will end up with who?

harry and ginny!!

Postby thestral » Saturday 16 July 2005 9:56:30pm

yay!! :double jump: yay!!

i'm so happy they got together!!. this is not an 'i told you so' thread for the shippers. well not for me anyway. i've shaken hands with tanuki and wish to not be a obnoxious meanie.

but yay!!!the only thing is that harry told her that they couldn't be together anymore, but i don't believe that'll stick for long. like in spiderman (the first one) at the end he denied himself love, but mary-jane came back to him at the end of the 2nd one. and ginny i think is strong and will stand up to harry and tell him to stop trying to be so bloody noble and it's her risk to take. and then she'll kiss him. yay. and they'll be happy and hopefully harry won't die therefore breaking her little weasley heart.

love is in the air, everywhere i look around, love is in the air, every sight and every sound. and i don't know if i'm being foolish, don't know if i'm being wise, but it's something that i must believe in, and it's there when i look in your eyes.....

duh, duh, duh DUH! LOVE IS IN THE AIR!!! *cue dancing in a strictly ballroom-esque style*

you're all soooo lucky you can't hear me sing right now. although i do, do an absolutly beautiful rendition of it through too much practice or singing to my sad lonely little self in my room..... :(

Too much

Postby Bextra » Sunday 17 July 2005 8:16:22am

I think that the 6th book has too much love in it. I mean its supposed to be about wizarding isn't it? Well I don't think that Ron going round snogging Lavender is really about magic.

i don't think there was a awful lot of romance. there wqas so much else going on it really had to be squeezed in round the edges. no romance was terribly elaborated on in great detail. it was there but not lingered on, even with harry and ginny.

and ron and lavender was obviously just a ron phase after ginny yelling at him and feeling rejected by hermione.

and i hate decaf tanuki. what is the point of it???

I always thought that HP was supposed to be about Harry Potters life. Teenagers fall in love (and out of love) all the time.

Very true and I remember it very well as it was not that long ago. But ow many characters were really in love and is it possible to REALLY be in love at 16? Yes, but not that likely-happens very rarely. Hermione and Ron have had feelings for each other that have grown throughout the books so theres I'll consent to being genuine. And though Luna is correct in saying that Ron can sometimes say cruel things, he does so usually without thinking and not as a planned thing. Like he would know that it was wrong to go making out with Lavender all over the place when he doesn't feel anything for her and knows instead that he likes Hermione. As for Ginny and Harry, Ginny has always cared for Harry but has Harry really cared for Ginny? They seem the likely match but as JKR describes Harry's feelings it seems more like a crush than a love.....

By the way I expect lots more love to come- I mean the whole series is really about love- magical or otherwise. Its Harry's love that will (hopefully) lead him to somehow overcome Voldemort. Speaking of I jusr realised. What happened with Hagrid and Madame Maxinne?

yeah, the one thing about harry and ginny getting together was that although it was nice, there didn't seem to be the intensity i expected of 2 people really in love. they'd becme closer, yes. but i think the reason for it was that for JK to describe each time harry felt himself falling more in love with ginny, well then it would have turned into a very long book, resembling a romance fanfic, more than well a HP book. and some people are complaining that there's too much romance in the book. but my problem was that there was too little, so much so that i don't think ginny and harry's love was properly shown, to have really grown into full blown proper love. ron and hermione's felt more genuine.

i didnt really like it. i have never liked ginny's character. and in his movie especially, i thought she was a "female dog". the only part i liked was the ending with them

[pandora 315quote]is it possible to REALLY be in love at 16?[/quote]

yep, it definitly is cos my best friend started going out with a guy that she had been friends with for years when she was 14 and they're still going out now, moving in together actually and i've never seen 2 people more in love, not in a over the top all over each other sort of way, but it's so obvious they love each other to absolute death. and people said the same thing to them 'awww you're so sweet' while saying that they weren't really in love cos that's not possible when you're so young.

so ummm yes, it is possible. and i look forward to ron and hermione finally getting it together cos if just the 3 of them are going to be travelling facing many dangers together well no lavender or frequent letters from vicky to get between them. maybe ginny will go if harry stops doing his 'noble' breaking up to protect her thing. god i hate that. she's a big girl she can make her own decision!!!!

As I said, yep its certainly possbile, some people are lucky enough to find someone and be mature enoug to realize and not ruin it, but its very very rare. In relation tothe books Molly and Arthur obviously met and married young and are still hopelessly devoted to each other. I think something that contriutes to being able to love and stay in love is a satisfaction and acception of yourself the way you are. Molly shows that by her password or whatever being "mollywobbles" obviously being a name implying her sight chubbiness. My interpretation of Ron (rightly so if you read what DD says in book 1) is that he tries to get the attention he missed out on by having so many siblings to live up to and so isn't ready to accept a relationships and true love with hermione. Whereas Hermione is super confident and sure of her love in Ron. Harry on the other hand is not sure who he is- until now of course. I mean the whole book was really a "coming of age" story. So next book I think Harry will be ready for love. Not yet though.

Back to young love though. It also takes co-operation in the extreme and an abbility to give and take. Something that its not possible to know until your're able to live together and face the realities of life such as bills, housework, care of children, etc. That is why so many relationships/marriages fail. People are unable to realize that the definition of love implies more than romantic dinners and roses every Valentines day- its hardwork.

yeah i think i agree with you pandora about harry not being ready for real love. i think ginny knows it's real love cos she knows who she is. but harry's only just become who he really is in HBP (which is a way better harry of the past 5 books, he's a man now yippee!!) so i think next book he'll really be ready and in true deep love. hopefully.

While reading the book I wasnt happy bout Harry's thoughts Ginny thinking that it would be a silly thing, but once it happened it seemed to fit extremely well. Even more so after discovering that Harry has to use some kind of love to defeat Lord Voldemont, so it'll be love for a female or for his friends! but i hope its Ginny.

ah, he'll love ginny. it's inevitable, right? just because of the way JKR set their friendship and relationship up throughout the entire series.

and i think ginny will go with them. i do not think harry will be alone by any means. i think he will have a lot to do with the order as well. all those people who love and care about him aren't going to let him go off on his own, are they? i don't think so.

and about young love... James had liked Lily for the longest time (and i have reason to believe that Lily really liked James despite his immaturity) and they started going out in their 7th year, right? and they ended up marrying. so who's to say harry, ginny, ron, or hermione can't be in love? such friendships are there i think it's entirely possible.
