I think this forum is meant for rumorsthat arise after READING HBP. Not teh rumors that come before the book

Hi S-L-F!! :D

yes, tanuki is right. This forum is meant to be a place that those who have read HBP can come and discuss the book...but since it's not even out yet, we shouldn't really have much. if anything, to post here. AND the biggest reason we try to adhere to this type of thing is that Paul and the Mods have to manually move each and every post from this area into the general area once the book has been out long enough. I'd imagine the task is time consuming so the general practice on this forum has always been to only post if you are making an actual contribution. When I say only post if you are making an actual contribution what I mean is sometimes you see threads that are 5 pages long -- 5 pages of active discussion and then someone goes and posts "I agree". It's a waste of space for all of us to post silly, non-essential stuff like "I agree" or "uh-huh" and on top of that, it's a waste of time for members to open a thread and see that there is nothing new posted even though the marker showed as a new post. So the general rule is to NOT post things like "I agree" and only post if you are actually contributing to the topic.

Anyway, I'm getting off track....but yes, this new area that Paul just made is really meant for us to use as we've begun reading the next book -- that way if someone hasn't read the book, they will know there may be spoilers in this area.

Hope that makes sense. I tend to ramble too much (as if you hadn't realized that by now!)

MoM is the Minister of Magic, and in fact, there was a new one, but since this topic is really not a rumor.. can it be locked or deleted or something?

I'm going to leave it open for the time being, in case a rumour of a new MoM for book 7 comes up.

Gwared's right...after a while is lapsed and all reasonable topics are discussed it seems like suddenly all the strangest theories begin to surface. You never know -- you might pop in here and see a thread started about MoM is really Nagini and Nagini is really Lily Potter and Harry is not really her son, Draco is...or some such nonsense...lol. But by the time these flukey theories come out, we are all jonesing for the next book that we all end up in on the oddball topic.

wasnt the MoM a vampire? NO wait. . . he created the rotfang conspiracy, bringing down the ministry with the combined forces of gum disease and bad breath!

They only wanted you to believe it was gum disease and bad breath when really the MoM is in cahoots with dentists worldwide. It was the use of dental floss that contributed to bringing down the ministry. But don't blame the dentists...blame the flossers of the world. They did it. They knew they were doing it. Ever notice the best flossers are such driven people...up to no good they are. You can only trust the lazy slackers out there, you know the ones I speak of, more commonly known as couch potatoes. It doesn't matter which variety of potato: Idaho, Baby Red, Couch, etc...they are clearly on the side of good and never get involved with dark magic. Good theory Digby...glad you caught this by reading between the lines in the book...I had overlooked this info until you mentioned it.
