i am kinda undecided. harry and luna would be good for harry, and there is the bit at the end of OotP. i dont think luna really is a romantic sort of person tho. she is far too dreamy, which is a good thing, but not for relationships. hermione and harry are amazing friends, and i could see that coming. if ron and hermione went together, there would be alot of tension between harry and ron, if ron believed that harry liked hermione. this would be a bad move, and i dont think that the books will turn into a soap opera, so i dont like that. ginny seems like an okay bet, but she is a very driven woman, and independent. i dont kno about her. i think ill just not make up my mind and amuse myself poking holes in everyone elses arguments

Seems like a great idea to me...
Harry and Luna just seem like friends to me. I don't know eh, reading that scene in OoTP.... Seemed like a little bit of pity there. They were both down and needed cheering up, and, well conversations like that can make people closer but... I don't really think it's gonna happen.
I'm for Harry and Ginny personally, but we'll see.

That's the thing about majorities, they are rarely right. J.K.R. comes from left field often.

Also, for those of who hell bent on that scene in the movie with the hand holding, look at that entire sequence starting with buckbeak. Ron hugs hermy in a very generic way, but Harry is the one holding her from behind, and there's a lot of physical contact between the two after that. Where's Ron? In bed! Philosopher's stone book, Hermy is a lot more concerned about Harry than Ron, and Ron gets knocked out. who does she hug first and kiss first...Harry. So forget all y'all Hmph

Hmm I actually just read Philosopher's Stone again today and noticed that actually. There's the moment where Ron gets "taken" off the board and all in the chess sequence, and they're all... sad. But really, she seem to take a little more notice of Harry, than Ron who's just been smashed by a massive stone arm...
And... there's always the argument that the hand-holding wasn't in the book.

i don't think it'll be someone completly new that we've never heard of cos has JK not said that she is going to focus on building characters and giving their backstory at this point rather than introducing new characters in the last two books. also I assume this will be harry's real relationship this time(not stupid first time crushes) so it'll probably be with someone that he has a history with and knows well, not someone he'll get to know in one book.

Hmm yeah I can see why'd she do that. There's not really any point in adding many new characters, because if a random new character just strolled into the picture and saved the world etc...... I dunno everyone would feel cheated.
If there's going to be a new charcter, I think it'd have to be a new character.

wow, it looks like a good number like ginny, I agree. and i think it will happen for a few reasons. It is probably too late to introduce that pivotal of a character into the story, because if harry has a real relationship, voldemort will go after her, and there will need to be serious character development. Parvati is unlikely b/c she just is, the yule ball thing was just cause harry needed a date. Cho is out of the picture, i don't think harry would want her back at this point. Hermione is going to end up with Ron, that is obvious. Luna is interesting, but a little too weird for harry's taste. That leaves Ginny as the only major girl character harry would go out with, and the fact that she was enamored with him earlier in the books.

I agree with you, but be a little careful when you say stuff like "it's obvious". There are conflicting opinions here, and there are certain people that are very strong in their opinions of about who will end up with who *coughtanukicough*.
