These following 2 quotes were mentioned on Leaky Cauldron. Just in case you guys didn't read them yet here they are :

Sooooo...... More things will be cut lots of things will be cut. So they will probably mention things like "Oh yeah, I saw her during the ball" and skip the ball scene entirely....

As for the other quote, I'm glad that the guy feels comfortable with changing some stuff that was in the book. The thing I loved most about the third film was that the director knew that there are some things that work in novels that just won't work on screen.

IMO an adaptation of a novel should respesct its source material, but at the same time, it should be able to stand alone even without it.

When I go to see a movie, I want to experience something new. I'd reread the book if I wanted to see what I already know. What I loved about the PoA movie was that it was bold and not afraid to stray a little from the book. Sure, at times the book should have been followed more closely (Shrieking shack scene for example...) but I felt that the Jamacan shrunken head alone more than made up for that

Also, when there is a two hour timeframe to fit the story into, and the book is quite large so the direcotor really does have to sacrifice some parts of it. Otherwise we would be sitting in the cinma for a week

Yeah...you are right I loved Lord of the rings movie for that ^-^ Plus there are actually ppl who never read HP books and are going to see the movie o.o

It only says 2005 on imdb, nothing more. But I've found the date November 18, 2005 on wizards news. I'm not sure if that's the official date, but could be...

Nah, this happens a lot in films...the actors play a part that isn't the right age. It's not uncommon to see 20-somethings playing teen parts, so it won't seem too "off" to have the wrong age teens playing teen parts.

I agree, it's not a problem, well, at least not for me. After all, aren't they still teenagers? Daniel is 16, Emma only 15, Rupert 17 and Tom is 18, aren't they? They all still look very young and as divabeaz said, often actors who are 20+ play teenagers.

It would be stranger if they were replaced by someone the "right" age...

Dan, Rupert and Tom are a bit too old but Emma isnt. Toms 16 or 17, Ruperts 16, Dans 15 and Emmas 14 or 15.
