How many times have u read the books?

Which one is your favorite so far. Are they getting even better as the characters develop over time?

I'm reading "The Hobbit" again, and then I'm gonna start reading through the series.

As soon as my schedule lifts, probably after Graduation, I'm going to read through the books again. It's been a long time. I've been too busy with school, work, basketball, track, and now a girlfriend to worry about. Wait, she's going to Florida next week, maybe i can get through them then.

Under what circumstances did you all read that books. Did you get them out of the library, buy them, get them loaned from a friend...?

When they first came out my sister was in love with them. I gave her hell for that because I thought they were the stupidest books ever. But one day I watched the movie and I was like, wow, this is pretty cool. So I stole her books and read them. THEY WERE AWESOME!! So now I have all 5 of her books in my room.

Read them only once  I think there was one book that I read twice in my life and that was when I was a kid...

Phoenix - always buy them, and then I read them for like ever, because I don't want it to end. ^-^

Cedric - I had a similar situation...kind of. My sister was telling me about HP books for ages, trying to get me to read them. And then I saw the trailer and though it was pretty cool - so I took her books and became an instant fan.

I started reading the books after I saw the 2nd movie...I figured that the movie ALWAYS butchers the books...and as it was a decent movie i thought i would read the books...nearly didnt even read the books as the first one made me want to jab needles in my eyes.

What the first book or the first movie? I'm guessing the first book but I wasn't sure. I didn't think it was that bad, but I do see that the writing get much better as they go along.

The first book was the one that killed me...I've only read it twice...where as I've read all the other ones as follows.

CoS - 43
poA - 59
GoF - 43
OotP - 28

(I liked PoA the best obviously)

The first one just wasn't on par with the other ones IMHO.

You've read OoTP 28 times in two years. Well almost two. One and 9 months or so. Going on that theory you should have read PoA (as it's your favourite) At least double that, because it's twice as short, and then double it another few times since it came out a few years earlier lol. I'm not gonna do the maths, but that's a lot of Harry Potter books being read!!

I bought Philosopher's Stone because I had a book voucher and had heard about it a little. I didn't think much of it really before I read it. Anyway I got really into it one afternoon and just read and read and read. After that I hired CoS out from my school library, then finished it and wanted to read it again, so I bought it. It was about 2000 or 2001 then so I went out and bought PoA and GoF at the same time. Loved them, and read them heaps and heaps and heaps until OoTP came out in 2003which I pre-ordered, got straight away and read over the weekend. I'm going to pre-order Half-Blood Prince as well, and I can't wait.
