Well...not exactly...with the guards deserting and something better to do.

I'd have to go between two answers--not quite the first chapter but not all the way until halfway through HBP. Anyway I voted first chapter... :???: :)

I think they will escape pretty early - thats the only way that people will realize that they are really in trouble, and start to be more aware of the war that is about to hit them.

Sorry if this topic is a little dead, but i just found this site and thought i would post.

I think Lucius will still be very effective as he still has MANY connections in the ministry and has already proven that he has no problem black mailing and threatening people. As for when the DEs will break out of Azkaban...During the first war the OotP must have caught some DEs as I think they tried to capture first and kill if necessary so they must have some way better way to hold them then just throwing them in a cell and waiting for them to escape. So when they escape (since they undoubtedly will) it will prolly be the result of Voldemort breaking them out.

I don't really think Voldemort will have to break them out. With no dementors around, I don't think it'll be too much of a challenge to escape. I just remembered something though. Lucius isn't the only one who's got his cover blown that worked in the ministry. Macnair will be out of a job too, so he won't be all alone :o .And Lucius having his cover blown doesn't make him any less effective with the Imperius Curse.
Btw, welcome to BaO Imelyen! :-) .

The Dementors may be gone but there are other ways of keeping them in Azkaban. There will undoubtedly be a spell in place to stop them from Disapparating, and I dont think they would stand much of a chance verse any sort of guard without their wands.

Sirius escaped. With Dementors. And there is probably an anti-disapparation jinx on there too, without a doubt.
I can without a doubt say that they will escape, or be freed. It's only a matter of time really. I wonder if Harry (and us as his eyes) will ever get to go to Azkaban?

I think it will be in the first few chapters because its highly likely they'll work out away to escape at the end of OotP and escape during the holidays, I don't no why but that's what I think mite happen, lol!

Well the holidays are like a month or there abouts for them. I just can't see them bothering to wait 30 days in there. I believe they'll try to get out as soon as possible.

Depending on how fast the book is, I think that they'll escape between the beginning and middle of the book.

I wonder if Fudge and Umbridge will have major parts in the future or if they'll just die off and out of the picture? Maybe even become extra characters after that.

Umbridge.... She'll surely be sent to Azkaban right? It'll be widely known before long that she cast an Unforgivable Curse on another wizard. They are called that for a reason, unforgivable. Apart from the off-mention though, I don't think we'll be seeing too much of her. When do you reckon Fudge'll be voted out of office?

Btw Tanuki, are you a mod now?

Not only did she use the Unforgivable curses but she also attacked a teacher, Hagrid. At least I think she did. Maybe it was someone else. cr*p, now I'm beginning to doubt myself.

Fudge is finished for sure, he's probably going to be out of office first thing when book 6 comes out.
