Which one is your favorite so far. Are they getting even better as the characters develop over time?

6th Book Cover Art

Postby bonnijose » Thursday 10 March 2005 8:07:33am

Hello,

I just saw the 2 new covers for the HP6 book. The UK Edition looks a lot better than the US Edition.
I am also into comic books and it just looks a lot like a comic book cover than it is a book cover. Kind of like a Green Lantern type of cover.

I am going to buy the UK Edition even if it cost a lot more!

Yeah I've seen 3 of them. The US, UK & UK Adult one. The UK art picture is pretty awesome, but I don't like the way that they use the green and blue as the colour scheme for it. It's way too similar to CoS for me. I know JK said she wanted at one stage the call CoS HBP, but I don't think they should make them the same colours. You can't really tell though, they may be different shades. What do you ppl think?

(Just because of the colour scheme that they've used, I've gotta say that I actually prefer the look of the US one (even though all the other US covers have been really bad,) but they don't sell the US one here, so I'll definitely get the Bloomsbury one where it looked no good or not.

Hi,
Looking at the UK Children's Edition cover art, I seem to see a cover for Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. Somehow the old guy (maybe Dumbledore) looks like Gandalf....

The UK edition may be more realistic, but somewhow I'm not fond of the way they made DD or Harry look. He just looks to harsh for me, plus why are their wands to crude looking. Olivander would be upset if he saw his wands represented as such pathetic looking things.

Hmm yeah well I didn't thik so, and still don't really, but the picture does intrigue me. The pictures always seem to have a relevance to the book in some way.
Also, if you study the image closely (and I've got it as my screen wallpaper, so it's pretty big) and look at Harry's scar, you'll notice an upside-down triangle of light, and the scar is located in the middle of it. It's a completely different colour to the rest of his face.
Also it looks like DD's beard is on fire!
Anyway, what do you think the fire-spiral thing surrounding them is? (The UK one) For a minute I thought it wsa a portkey, but then I realised it was coming from DD's wand. It's obviously a spell of some sort then, but in attack or defence? And what's that chapter name JK released that sounds sort of like a spell. That may be it.

Have y'all see the U.S. one? I think its fancy, to me (not being rude) UK's picture looks more like a childs story book picture. Not a cover for the best selling book in history (besides bible). But what I do like in the UK's which is also in the U.S. one is the mystery they both give out. OoTP had mystery in it too. But the previous three, yeah mysterious wasn't even a word with those covers.
