That's an interesting term. What does it mean?
I know it's not wrong to look for reassurance but I
do feel kind of...
how shall I say...
Over The Top with all that complaining about him and how he never really loved me. Boo Hoo.
You are right Barry he
does love me.
My father said that his biggest problem is that he never learned how to express those feelings and hiding inside of a beer can doesn't help him to learn.
With Emily's injury he has been drinking far less and has been
around a lot more. When I say
around I am speaking figuratively as well as literally. He has actually tried to help me care for her, he has taken time off from work to go to the surgeon with us the last two times she had to go. It is quite difficult because she is completely helpless at the moment. We have to carry her everywhere, including to the bathroom.
He even got her a wheelchair from one of the other firefighters so that I can take her for walks up and down our hill. The wagon just doesn't work on such a steep incline.
He has also tried to give her and me a little more moral support. I am very tired lately because of the strain of taking care of a 4 yr old the same way you would care for an infant and Emmy is no ordinary 4 yr. old. She is 52 pounds without the cast and carrying her up and down the stairs and to the bathroom several times a day has done wonders for my back and neck. He sees this and has tried to pick up some of the slack.
It is nice to know that after a long day of caring for Emily followed by a full evening of work I can come here and whine without recrimination.
Thankyou all very much!
