First, I know, ideally, I would have actually
read each and every post, but I only have a week to be online (I hate feeling stuck in the mid-nineties) so I have to compress!
Anyway, I've always felt it was fairly clear that Durmstrang is in Bulgaria. Krum is obviously from Bulgaria (World Cup), they speak Bulgarian (I believe... at least, they have Bulgarian accents), and -- I know this is not a major point, but worth mentioning -- J.K. Rowling approved the casting of only a Bulgarian actor to play Krum (I think, but, hey you know, I haven't been online in a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time, so be nice cuz there's a good chance I'm wrong about that
![](./images/smilies/lol.gif)
). Regardless,
Krum is Bulgarian, but then again, there are Brittish, Scottish, Irish and Indian students at Hogwarts, since it seems to cover the entire United Kingdom. (shrug) I think it's in Bulgaria, though.
Hogwarts seems to cover the entire United Kingdom, and if Durmstrang covers the whole Eastern Europe area (Yugoslavia, Czechoslovacia (my most profound to anyone from there if I butchered the names), Bulgaria, etc.) and Beauxbatons covers the rest of the Western European countries, namely France (that seems to be quite clear, by the way).
