i thought she looked good and acted good apart from the hair colour....

but hair colour is nothing to the kind of character flaws the lotr movie has....

as far as sticking to the book goes i think the harry potter movie managed it far better than the lotr movie......

I'll have to strongly disagree, Sonkem. I was disappointed by the Harry Potter adaptation...while I was VERY pleasantly surprised by Lord of the Rings. I adored it, really, while, as I left the theatre for Sorcerer's Stone, I felt it lacked something...:(.

no but....i mean character wise....at least all the harry potter characters behaved pretty much as they should do

in lotr almost every fellowship character is out by miles from what the book says they should be....its most noticable with the hobbits but gimli and legolas have been altered for the worse

It happens in every film really. They make exxagerations of the characters, which makes them worse.

I bawled when I found out Richard Harris died! He was so good. Think how his granddaughter feels. She told him to go out for the part. And it was Hodgekins Disease.

Alan Rickman did wonderfully as Snape. Has anyong seen Jason Isaacs? Lucius Malfoy? The hott one? MINE!! back away slowly! Very nicly done in the Patriot as Colonel William Tavington. I own that beautiful movie!

Agree, Sonkem! I always thought of Lucius much more clean-cut. More like his son. And for some reason (even thought it SAYS his hair is light) I always thought of his hair dark.

I know, I'm weird and I think of people wrong. ;)

I actually watched both movies before reading the books *gasps* yeah i knoe...

Fred, George and Percy don't do much do they? so little dialogue...
some of their scenes make up the coolest parts

And anyone notice that Harry and Draco don't say as much either?
In fact, I thought that Harry was slightly more obnoxious in the books sometimes, whereas he's a lot more saintly in the films (to the obvious approval of many girl fans)

Btw, Jason Isaacs was originally cast as Snape, so nErRrRR~! =P
but Alan Rickman did a much better job, although........ *kidding* *kidding*

oh, and Hugh Grant was originally cast as Lockheart also *shudders*

Kenneth whatever his last name is. (I know it I just can't spell it) I like because he looks so much like my Geology Professor. So me and my Professor have this joke about pixies. Because he likes Harry Potter too.

lol. his last name is Branagh.

there was an article about how he's gone back to London theater again, since the early 90's, and is starring in some play there. I thought it was an interesting article...

oh, btw, i watched Sense and Sensibility with alan rickman in it! yay! i must admit, though, hugh grant did not look that hott in that movie, at all. and if i have the person right, the lady who played the girls' mother is Madame Pomprey from HP, too. If i have it right...
