You could very well be correct, in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the bar keep was Aberforth. Now that I have about a gallon of coffee in my system I am thinking clearly

Another reason it would surprise me is because, as we all know, Athena is actually JK Rowling herself

But I must agree with everyone saying that this character will assume a more important possition later in the series.

Hey everyone, im new but i got to thinking after reading this..

[b][i]I have developed this rather silly theory about who Aberforth really is.

Dumbledore seems to know the future all the time.
What if he has a time turner, but then I thought if he were constantly going back in time then the chances of him causing a paradox would increase exponentially every time he went back so that lead me to discount the idea. Then I though what if he is going through the whole thing once.

OK what I mean by that is perhaps he had this time turner and things went very very badly wrong and Voldemort took over the world and destroyed everything. So Dumbledore went back in time a very long way and had his other self take on the identity of his brother Aberforth and he very carefully manipulates events to foil Voldemort without causing the butterfly effect so to speak.

Yes very far fetched I know but what the heck this is all for fun anyway.

albus could have lived two lives, one when LV Won and this book series. Dumbledore could have lived his life then gone back in time to live it again and he would know EVERYTHING that would happen. aberforth and albus look so similar because they are one and the same!
