BUFFY is owned by Joss et al. HARRY POTTER is owned by

Two werewolves meet in a bar to compare notes over beers
in this amusing crossover. Enjoy and all comments welcome.
TIMELINE: BUFFY-post series. HP-anytime after POA (AU)
AN--I have no preference as to how Lupin looks, but I'm
going with the movie version in this story.
"Another beer please."
The man looked in the mirror above the bar as he nursed
his Sam Adams and saw a fairly handsome man of almost
forty looking back at him. The brown hair was fairly neatly
combed and the gray eyes friendly, but a bit sad. The slight
mustache made him slightly resemble the Muggle actor
Errol Flynn. The bartender walked over and smiled as she
placed his beer down in front of him.
"I got it."
The man turned and saw a slightly-built young man of
about twentyish sitting next to him. His hair was reddish
brown and his eyes green. He sported jeans, red tennis
shoes and a yellow shirt with the words DINGOS ATE
MY BABY. Lupin smiled at the shirt, yet he noticed the
young man had a familiar scent about him. Was he?
"Thank you," The man stated.
"No problem," The young man replied. "Name's Daniel
Osborne. Oz to my friends."
He held his hand out. The man raised an eyebrow at
the black nail polish as he shook it.
"Nice to meet you, Daniel Osborne. Remus J. Lupin."
"You work at that magic school, right? Willow told me."
"Quite a young lady Professor Rosenburg." A brief
pause as Lupin sipped his beer. "She mentioned she had
a boyfriend who was a werewolf."
"Guilty." Oz raised his hand. "And it's ex. She is now
officially lesbo."
"Yes. I met the girl. Quite charming."
"Yup. Tara's quite a catch."
"Did she mention I was a werewolf?"
"No, but I smelled you when I entered. How long?"
Lupin smiled ruefully.
"Since childhood. A man named Fenrir Grayback bit me."
The wizard-werewolf told Oz about the alliance Grayback and
other werewolves had with Voldemort, how Grayback especially
enjoyed biting children and raising them away from their
families.
"So this Voldemort dude says 'Join me and get a piece of the
pie', right?"
"Correct."
"So, how do you counter it?"
"Professor Snape makes a wolfsbane potion for me to drink
on the nights of the full moon. It is positively vile, but it works."
Lupin then went into his days at Hogwarts with the other
Marauders. He told how he was prefect to keep an eye on
Sirius Black and James Potter and how they would torment
Snape to no end, especially the older Potter levitating the
Potions professor in the air upside down and Lily berating
him. He also told of the many nights the Marauders would run
amok in the animal forms that gave them their respective
nicknames that were on the map they created and that
Harry Potter now owned.
"So, I take it," An amused Oz observed, "that Snape was not
exactly Mr. Popularity."
"He was not," Lupin replied. "James and Severus loathed
each other from the start, and I did absolutely nothing to
stop James or Sirius. Of course, Sirius did mention that
Severus knew more potions and curses when he came to
Hogwarts than most seventh years."
"A prodigy."
"You might say that. He is certainly a better potions maker
than I am."
The werewolf drank some more Sam when a thought crossed
his mind.
"Incidentally," He queried. "How did you become a werewolf?"
"My then two-year-old cousin Jordan bit me," Oz replied. "It
sort of runs in the family."
The young musician went into how the Scoobies would keep
him in the cage in the library the three nights of the full
moon when he was a werewolf and the ritual of reading
passages from Jack London's Call Of The Wild.
"Of course," Oz smiled, "they had to skip over the passage
with the rabbits because I got excited over it."
He mentioned how Willow and Xander had a tranquilizer gun
and clothes on hand. Lupin listened in amused interest as the
younger werewolf told of meeting fellow musician and
lycanthrope Nina at the University of Sunnydale. Yet, Nina
relished the "freedom" being a werewolf gave her, including
satisfying the hunger of the kill. Oz mused how he had to
kill her when she attacked Willow who tried to cast a spell
on him, but backed off at the last minute.
"So, you also do not wish to kill even though it is in the
werewolf's nature."
"No."
"How do you fight it?"
"Well, I went to Tibet to learn and they suggested a lot of
meditation and some herbs. Postive thought helps as well.
Now, I can stand under a full moon and nothing happens."
"You can will yourself not to change. Remarkable."
"If you want, I can help you with it."
"Thank you, I would like that."
The two werewolves drank their Sam Adams in comfortable
silence, enjoying each other's company and basically bonding.
Lupin especially felt comforted in knowing that there was a
fellow lycanthrope who also refused to give into the natural
base homicidal desires the werewolves possessed.
"So, do you miss Willow?" Lupin asked.
"As a girlfriend, hell yeah. She's sweet, funny and a real
good friend. I was a total idiot. I broke her heart."
"How so?"
"I was afraid my being a werewolf would hurt her, so I pushed
her away."
"And into the arms of Miss Maclay."
"Basically."
At that moment, the two ladies in question walked in. Tara
pointed Oz and Lupin out to Willow and the two lesbian witches
glided over. Willow wrapped a friendly arm around each
werewolf and kissed each of their cheeks.
"Hey," She greeted. "How're my favorite lycanthropes?"
"Hey," Oz replied. "We're bitchen. How're you two?"
"Good evening, Professor Rosenberg," Lupin greeted.
"Willow's fine, Remus," The witch smiled.
"All right. Willow. Miss Maclay. How are you?"
"I'm good, Mr. Lupin," Tara smiled. "Thank you."
"So, to what do we owe the honor of your presence?"
"The girls are having a barbecue and a double feature
night. We were wondering if you two want to join us."
"What are the films?"
"'Hocus Pocus' and 'Witches of Eastwick'."
"Great," Oz put in. "Two of the funniest films. Jack
kicks ass in 'Eastwick'."
"I have no plans," Lupin stated, "so I suppose I can
join you as well."
"Cool. Let's split."
Oz paid the tab, leaving a generous tip and witches and
werewolves left to enjoy a night with young Slayers. Lupin
smiled that he was with people who accepted him for what
he was, including a fellow lycanthrope.
THE END
Ta-daa. We like? I realize I may have made Oz a little
more verbose than he usually is. Any comments will help
me with future tales so don't be shy. Peace out.
