Chapter 12 - Our Father

In [i[Our Father[/i], 16 years ago, Hiro's mother and father talk about what to do with the catalyst. Hiro's mother is very ill. She wants the catalyst to go to Hiro but his father wants it to go to the baby Claire.

Claire goes off to follow her father to stop the company from putting the catalyst in him, whilst Hiro stays behind.

Claire catches up with Sandra as Sandra is entering her apartment and tells Sandra she is the niece of the Monaco's. Later, Noah walks in whilst Claire is alone with herself. He knows the Monaco's don't have a niece and confronts Claire. She asks him not to answer a ringing phone which is the company who are planning to put the catalyst in her.

Hiro tells his mother who he is. His mother is a healer and heals Hiro's memory. He tells her of his heroic actions that he has done. His mother puts the light of the catalyst in him before fading away in death.

In present times, Silar pours petrol on Elle's dead body at the beach and sets her alight. He tracks down a human lie detector called Sue Landers and, back to his old slf, he slits her head open to take her ability.

Nathan arrives at Pinehearst and announces to his father that he is taking over. Pinehearst has a troop of marines that they plan to use the formula on.

Matt, Daphne and Ando obtain a copy of the sketches very last episode of 9th Wonders from a delivery company. In it they see Hiro trapped in time 16 years in the past.

Claire and Hiro are back on the rooftop where the baby Claire had originally been given to Noah. It's night and they are alone, but Arthur appears, takes the catalyst and Hiro's powers and throws him off the rooftop. He sends Claire back to tell Angela it's over and Arthur won. Hiro is left holding on for dear life to a flagpole just below the rooftop.

Peter intends to kill his father. and the Haitian

Back at present day Pinehearst, Arthur adds the light of the catalyst that he has obtained to Mohinder's formula. Peter and the Haitian make it in to the building. Peter shoots at Arthur but Silar stops the bullet. He asks Arthur if he is really his father - Arthur says yes, but Silar gets the tingle of lies from his newly aquired human lie detector powers. Silar lets the bullet continue on its path straight into Arthur's head. Arthur falls and the catalyst floats away from his body.

Meanwhile inside the laboratory, the formula with the catalyst has been given to one of the marines. He throws a chair through a protective window. He feels "good".

Woow...only one more episode to go this season and it's looking like it will be amazing.

Is Arthur Dead? Angela mentioned one shot to the back of his head would kill him but it went in the front...with Adam's self-healing ability, is this enough to have killed him. He certainly looked dead especially with the catalyst floating away

Poor Elle - and so much for my idea that she was carrying Silar's baby. Which leaves the question of who will be the mother to Silar/Gabriel's child to come?

I thought the scenes with Hiro and his mum were really touching, and Claire's scenes with her parents were very nice too. The way Noah was with his "Claire Bear" even made me like him again (at least that sign of him), which was a difficult thing to do after his slaughter of Silar last week.

With the Catalyst gone from Arthur, how long will the formula last? And does Claire still have it inside her?
