You need Commons! I could really get Ravenclaw going if you had houses! Couldn't you rename stuff, like General as the Great Hall? And if you do, could moderate?

Any takers for moderators of Gryffindor, Hufflepuff & Slytherin?

What does everybody think?...should access to each common room be protected by a password so that people from other houses can only get into their own common room?

Don't worry, i don't think you're being mean - This place is open to good ideas, and what you've mentioned <i>are</i> good ideas, so that's cool.

Alrighty, Newbies are now Muggles and then you progress through the student years...first year etc until becoming a Fully Qualified Wizard (anyone who reaches Fully Qualified who wants their profile to read Witch instead of Wizard, just ask & I'll get your individual details changed )

Wow, good ideas! Also, if I may, I'd like to be the moderator of Gryffindor. It might be a good idea to make passwords so that people from different houses don't insult each other, as they do on some other message boards

You've got it bewitchin - you're now the official moderator of the Gryffindor Common Room!

At the moment I've made it so that only members of a particular house can view or post in their own common room.

The other option would be to allow everyone to <b>view</b> each common room but only to <b>post</b> in their own house's common room. I haven't used this option (because at some stage if I can think of a way to award house points the common rooms can be used for strategic planning for house members) but if members think that view-only access would be preferred for everyone, then access could be changed.

Are the common rooms for role-playing or just for posting about anything?

OK, one more: maybe beaxbatandball wants to have her rank changed to Ravenclaw Prefect or something? I can't speak for her, of course, just a suggestion.

At the moment they're there for posting about anything. I'd love to use them for some kind of role playing game, but to be honest, at the moment I've no idea how to go about this as I've never played an online RPG so don't quite know how to go about starting one up. If anyone has any advice/ideas on this I'd be really interested.

Ravenclaw Prefect sounds good ... what do you think beaxbatandball? now that I've changed bewitchin to Gryffindor prefect it seems it would be cool for moderators of individual forums to all be Prefects?

Hey, I'll be working on some psychedelic fractal avatars in the next few days. If everyone likes them I'll be able to pick one avatar for each level you're on (ie one for Muggles, one for 1st years etc).

Thanks - it's a combination of a couple of different programs - Tierazon fractal creator and Ulead Gif animator. I've been trying to do a few more but most attempts so far have ended up looking not too good.
