Theory section

ive noticed...the one thing this forum lacks is a theory section...u have a rumours section but theories rnt rumours so we cant post theories in there otherwise visitors might think our ideas were rumours

just a thought....cos im dying to post a thread about everyones theories on whos gonna die in book 5 but i cant work out where to put it

Well we have a Books section. That's supposed to be a place to discuss our thoughts and feelings regarding HP, and our theories should also belong there. We could however have a separate section for each book...

no but its like the other forum i go to has a book section and a theories section and a rumour section and its like i always think of the books section as a place for discussing books and facts about future books....


and its like books suggests facts.....rumours again is things that people have heard r gonna be in the books...but theories r ur own ideas and with no separate forum for theories here it gets rather hard to tell what is fact, rumour or theory, in my opinion theories dont seem to fit into any of the forums here although most likely id try and post them in the great hall

and then theres also theories about future movies....who we think should play sirius/dumbledore is different to the rumours/fact of who is gonna play them and with no clear section for theories how does a guest (say) know if what we r discussing is rumour/fact or theory??

An interesting idea - my initial thought is like Broccoli said, that theories in general would really go in the books area of the forum, and theories about movies would go in the movie area but I can see your points Sonkem regarding establishing what is fact, rumour or theory. How about editing your post to make it a poll and I'll go with the majority verdict?

It looks like the vote is in favour of the Theories Section, so I'll add one to the board in the next day or two. Do you have any preference in the way it should be described on the forum index page Sonkem?

Err, anyhow ... I've just set up the Theories section. Hope the description is OK - it can easily be changed if any other wording is preferred.
