No posts gain for posting in zonko's, etc

Do you have any suggestions for this board or for the Broomsticks And Owls site?

* Hands Siruk a pastille * :-)

There's not an option (on the current version of the forum) to choose whether to count posts from any particular area. From what I've seen of the upcoming and much awaited big upgrade, "phpBB Olympus", I think there may be the type of option to do this, in which case it's quite possible that some areas like Zonkos may be chosen to be excluded from members' post counts in the future. Nothing against Zonko's, or any members who may or may not post a lot there, just that it may end up with a more accurate picture of members' forum activity. If it does become a possibility, I'd probably want to to check with members as a whole before doing this (maybe by a vote).

Sorry I didnt know you could not change the Post count options on forums, I post on two other forums which are invision made, so there is an option to do that.

And I come from an area where my other friends dont like spam style posts to count as real posts, so it jsut sort of grew on me, though I can adapt to this style of posting :lol:

We don't like spam at BaO either! :evil: Unfortunately the posts still count as real, but we try to check the posts' content before sorting a person or making him/her a moderator. And, I think, if you delete a spam post, the post number will decrease.

I personally feel that it's OK for (some of) Zonko posts to count, but it is probably better if the posts from, say, word association game don't count as they are mostly only one-word posts.

If you did that, then Zonko's would become underpopulated *darts eyes back and forth, and goes crazy posting spam*
