Erm... in general kids know far more about internet than parents, I think we shall have to wait a few more years before the parent generation is mainly computer literate and even then I suspect with the rate that computer technology improves kids are still going to know more about computers and internet than parents because they are learning it now whereas parents learnt it at uni/school.

i think that there should be some restrictions but no uniforms. its too boring. i love being able to express myself and i believe that i can do that through dress.

You know, I don't think any of the school districts near me have uniforms except the Catholic schools. Is it common where you guys all live for schools to have uniforms?

here in Australia, the public schools have uniforms - a certain coloured polo shirt and pants/skirt/shorts usually. The private schools are more full on with ties and jackets and so on.

And I completely agree about kids knowing more than adults do about puters. So many adults are computer illieterate (sp.) . If I didn't have to use computers for studying and work, I would be so behind! I hate to think of ppl who don't use puters at all, it's taken me years to convince some ppl to get internet! I mean, come on!

Yes, it is different in my home country of England. All uniforms whether our public school or private school are long white socks, grey shorts/pants and a white polo with the school emblem. Jumpers are usually moroon, or a dark navy. I just wear the socks which reach my knees, and the grey ( dull )shorts and the white polo. Whether rain or shine, I wear shorts/polo, any boy caught wearing pants and/or a jumper would be teased by the others.
Girls tend to wear checkered dresses which are blue and white, and the socks are strictly ankle white.
This was my primary school, but now, I'm in highschool and I wear shorts and white polo, with a touch of my own ( usually dirt :P )
People (boys), usually rub dirt on their white shirts so they don't have to go to class, and some even take ther shirts off, dunk them in water, put them on, and walk up to a teacher.
*Sigh* Crazy people.
*Begins twitching randomly*

Infant school: Grey trousers/skirts with white socks, black leather shoes for play, black pumps when in school, plain white shoes for PE, white/blue polo shirts with a seperate one for PE, primary red/primary blue jumpers with the school logo on. Red/white or blue/white dresses were allowed if accompanied by a cardigan with the school logo on.

Junior school: Pretty much the same, except that the jumpers/cardigans were navy and the dresses were only blue/white.

High school: Grey/black trousers, skirts of the same colours if wished- not too long or too short- white stiff-necked shirts, grey jumpers with the school logo, tie in the school colours, black leather shoes.

Sixth Form had two choices: suit with a smart shirt and tie (so long as it was smart it was fine, but the Sixth Form version of the school tie was preferred), or- navy jumper with the school logo, smart shirt, Sixth Form tie, black/grey trousers, black leather shoes with either choice.

Welcome to my schools in the North of England!
