Hogwarts '06/7

A home for old scenarios who may have come to an end for RPG playing but whose life and excitement can still be enjoyed in story form.

Dinas had a quick look down the class list to check for absentees - there didn't appear to be any, so he went to his blackboard, and got his wand out.

Misty was bored.

Theory work was dull. The feel in the classroom was boredom.

She looked around, many people were just staring out the window or at the clock trying to trick it into going faster.

She slowly took the notes.

The Care of Magical Creature lesson was after Herbology. This time, Hagrid ushered them into the woods when he promised a big surprise.

The 4th year students were obviously not comfortable with his promise. They had heard too much stories and witnessed some themselves.

"TADA!" Hagrid exclaimed, revealing the huge beast behind him. Everyone had their jaws dropped. It was a beautiful winged horse.

The final session of the day was over - Dinas put his wand away after he disappeared the writing from the board.

He dismissed the class.

The first quidditch match of the season was only a night's sleep away.

Class was finally over.

Misty's face lit up but the butterflies in her stomach were beggining to flutter more violently.

One more night to go
she thought.

Her last lesson, Defence Against the Dark Arts, had been very dull theory work- but as the bell rang and she left the classroom, Rowena felt a tantalising mixture of nerves and excitement flower in her chest. The first Quidditch match of the season was tomorrow, one night away.

She ran up to her dormitory to drop off her books before going to the Great Hall for some tea. She couldn't think about anything except the match, her training running through her mind like the lyrics of the songs she loved so much. While practises had gone well, tomorrow would reveal if she could actually fly well enough to be on the Quidditch team.

Just before dinner Dinas went down to the quidditch pitch to examine for the last time whether it was right and ready for the next day's match.

At Dinner Misty noticed the Gryffindor team picked at their food while only playing a little part in conversations with friends.

Even the Slytherin's looked slightly pale.

Misty smiled.

"Hey, I haven't seen you all day. How was Ancient Runes?" Misty asked Johnathon when he sat down next to her with Terry (who she noticed looked a little white-faced)

Dinas walked up the stone path back up to the Great Hall for dinner.

Once Dinner was over and Misty was in the common room she decided to have a quiet night and sit by the fire and read a Muggle Novel 'To Kill a Mockingbird' that a friend had lent her.

Maybe that'll keep my nerves down...she though as she opened the book and began to read the first sentence.

After dinner (and dessert) Dinas found hat there wasn't really anything for him to do. He decided to have a stroll around the dungeons.

After spending long hours in the woods for the care of magical creatures lesson (the class had skipped dinner), Arven finally made her way back to the castle. It had been a tiring but enjoyful trip.

After the soothing bath, Arven lazily sat near the fireplace, enjoying the warmth of the dancing flames while listening to Rowena's story about her cat.

Nothing was haappening in the dungeons either. He decided to check in on the Slytherin Common Room.

It didn't work.

Misty decided to join into the conversation that Arven and Rowena were having.

She walked over and sat down next to Arven.

"Hey, you guys ready for tommorrow?"

She smiled when she saw Rowena's face pale.

Rowena broke off from talking about Nox's various night-time wanderings to answer.

"Yep, absolutely fine. Not nervous at all., not in the slightest."

Her voice came out all high and squeaky, and before she knew it she was giggling inanely at herself. She was nervous, and everyone could see it- but it would take more than that to stop her playing tomorrow. Eventually she managed to quell the giggles.

"Oh, we'll be great once we get out there. It's just the tension, the expectations of everyone- it's getting to me a bit."
