Hogwarts '06/7

A home for old scenarios who may have come to an end for RPG playing but whose life and excitement can still be enjoyed in story form.

It was just one day until the start of the Hogwarts Quidditch Cup season, with Gryffindor playing Slytherin as per tradition in the first match of the school year.

Some of the players were getting nervous...

Misty slept very peacefully that night but woke up with Quidditch runniong through her mind.

1 day left...better talk to the team at Breakfast

She slowly got dressed and ready and walked down to breakfast.

Over breakfast that morning, Dinas noted how nervous all the team captains appeared to be, especially those of Gryffindor and Slytherin. Burns seemed to be a little light-headed.

As usual, Arven sat at the far end corner of the Gryffindor bench while Misty started to brief the quidditch team about match tomorrow.

Dinas has some light toast for breakfast, and began to ponder about the next stage of his operations.

It would be a large event, the Interschool Cup, and he predicted that there would be at least 20,000 wizards from all over the world attending.

The world is a big place, he thought stupidly. He sighed to himself. That was a lot of people.

A lot of fear.

Her nerves finally got the best of her during her 'day before' pep-talk.

She also noticed some of the new teammates were also put off their food, pushing it around their plates like they were putting off eating something disgusting.

She finished her pep-talk and went and sat next to Arven and gave her a seperate talk while deciding weather she should eat somehting or leave it...

The first day of the tournament would go down smoothly. Then perhaps... a small accident that's seen as unfortunate but only that - just an accident.

Then on the third day - yes on the third day of the tournament, Dinas decided - he would wreak havoc in the place.

"The food is getting cold," Arven said absent mindly as she took another sip of the pumpkin juice from her cup. Misty who was still meddling with the plate of pancakes paused for a while. Arven eyed the pot of hot honey in front of them and Misty took the hint.

"That should make it taste better!" Misty declared.

She pured a large amount of honey onto her pankakes and started piling them into her mouth.

"SLow down there Misty" Arven said. "And you have a little something dripping down the side of your mouth.."

Arven giggled.

Sure enough, there was a drip of honey slowly making its way to Misty's chin..

"Oops" Misty said while wiping it away with a napkin.

Misty laughed.

Breakfast ended, and Dinas rose from the table to begin Friday, the final day of lessons for the week.

He would have practical lessons today; they were much more fun.

As she looked at her watch, and saw that it was almost time for her first class of the day- Potions- Rowena got up from the Gryffindor table and began to walk down to the Dungeons. She still felt jumpy- and a little embarassed about being so worried about Misty when she had turned up five minutes later with a detention from Professor Dinas- and her mind drifted back to yesterday's chaotic events.

So when she reached the classroom, she was unsurprised to see that it wasn't Lupin standing at the front of the class. It was a teacher she had seen in the Great Hall- the Ancient Runes teacher- but she did't know her name. In silence, she began to make notes from the board- not really paying attention, but thinking about the match against Slytherin tomorrow. She smiled to herself with those thoughts, and the day before slipped into the recesses of her memory while Misty's pep talk came forward.

First up were the seventh year Slytherins and Hufflepuffs. They were old and mature enough to at least be able to get along well enough these days, though Dinas remembered a time when half the lesson would be taken up quelling the insults and abuse sent from one side to the other.

It's not that he couldn't control his class - he could. He just enjoyed letting it get a little out of control first - he was interested as to how his students would react under pressure.

He'd really enjoyed letting the cornish pixies out to his second years; apparently someone had done the same thing 15 years ago and it had backfired.

He'd had no problems - though the students certainly did.

Arven scribbled her final sentence just as the bell went off.

"Time's up, everyone. Now pass the paper back to the front," said the Herbology teacher.

Heaving a sigh of relief, Arven put down her quill and handed the test paper. Even though Herbology was her worst subject, she managed to answer more than half the questions. The late nights tutorials with Misty certainly helped.

Friday went quick enough - before lunch he'd had some rowdy Slytherins, but other than that it had gone quite smoothly.

The 7th year Gryffindors were his final class of the day. He watched as the last few students entered.

The day went fast...definately not as expected. Usually the day before a game went really slowly.

So Misty was suprised when she found her legs walking themselves into Dinas' class last period.

She sat down and took out her book and looked at Dinas.

Hope it's an interesting lesson he has planned, otherwise I wont be able to sit still.
