Hogwarts '06/7

A home for old scenarios who may have come to an end for RPG playing but whose life and excitement can still be enjoyed in story form.

Arven descended the flight of stairs following Jonathan. Everytime when she seemed to get closer to him, Jonathan would increase his speed, and soon after Arven would lose sight of him.

This time round, she seemed to have completely lost him. She paused for a while to look at the surroundings as she hasn't been paying much attention where she was heading.
"This is the way to the dungeons," she said silently.

A strange feeling occured as she heard Lupin mumble something which sounded like a spell under his breath.

Walk to the Common Room, now.

Why do I want to walk to the Common Room...no I don't. Lupin does.

Walk! NOW!

No

Do it.

No, I don't want to. This is the Imperious Curse isn't it.

Misty's battle with her mind had made her forget about Rowena who by this time had started to walk towards the steps leading to Gryffindor tower.

The merpeople stopped Dinas, and tied him to what looked to be some sort of ancient Greek version of a totem pole.

It can't be Lupin, he thought.

No! I can't go to the Common Room- I don't even want to, Lupin wants me to...

Keep walking towards the Common Room, now.

She paused for a moment, trying with all the strength she could muster to ignore the voice in her head.

I can fight it, I must! Misty is, and Arven's still looking for Jonathon, I've got to...

Just walk, as quickly as possible.

Another moment of struggle passed before she regained enough of herself to realise what she was holding in her pocket. But she still couldn't speak.

Can I use my wand without speaking? Is it possible?

No, so just keep walking. Walk, walk and walk.

Damn you, Lupin! She gripped her wand and shrieked in her mind Thank you reading- Protego!

One last effort saw her break through the spell.

"I knew it was you!" Misty shrieked at Lupin. "It was all a show wasn't it. The nice, quiet teacher. Yeah, real smooth Lupin. What's your purpose in doing this? Release Rowena now. She's a first year, leave her alone!"

Arven came around the corner. I can't let Lupin know she's there

She cocked her head, tellign Arven to go back the way she came. Lupin didn't notice.

Dinas had to escape - he was doing couldn't be stopped now, by Lupin or anyone.

He would complete his task.

His wand was within casting distance - the guard holding it was near.

Reducto! he shouted, urging the spell toward the top of the totem pole.

It exploded, and got some of the rope too.

He was free.

Arven hid behind the wall at the corner. She was rather surprised to see Prof Lupin and the two girls together. But there was no mistake from the expression Misty gave her. Something was wrong.

Holding her wand tight, she remained stationary, listening carefully to the conversation between Misty and Lupin.

The explosion shocked the guards enough for it to be easy to snatch his wand from the fingers of his stunned captor.

He was now formidable: he sent 7 stupefying stunning spells toward the guards in under a second, the spells seeming to fly enthusiastically out of his wand, as though it had missed him.

He turned to face the Merking, who was standing tall. Dinas swam toward him.

"I apologise," he said softly. He truthfully did not want to harm the aging king. "It has to be done - I simply can't have you all muddling around in my plans."

"I'm sorry..." Dinas finished.

Aroca, he cast slowly.

And the king was turned to stone permanently, until Dinas uncast the spell.

"She is mearly following instructions" Lupin said in a tone which Misty had never heard out of him before.

"Who in their right mind would hire you...unless..You've had him under the influence of Imperious since your interview haven't you???" Misty said.

She didn't wait for the reply. "Impervio" she cast the counter spell for Imperio...and ran.

She grabbed both Rowena, who was in shock and Arven who was standing by the wall...

Dinas swam as fast as he could through the murky water of the lake.

He swam on.. and on.. and on...

"Thanks!" Rowena managed to gasp as they ran. She was still a bit upset that she hadn't managed to break free of Lupin herself, but ignored it as they headed up the stairs and began to try and figure everything out.
Professor Dinas is up to something huge- Professor Lupin is evil and currently controlling everyone including the Headmaster. We're three students who have no idea what is really happening while Lupin's after us and Dinas is with the Merpeople...
She thought she saw Nox hurry past them in the shadows, but decided it was a trick of the light.

Professor Dinas sprinted toward the castle, the water dripping down himself.

He brushed passed some students that were stunned to see their teacher back again so soon.

"Imperio," he heard the voice softly from behind him. He turned quickly and flung out his wand, blocking the spell.

The spell was stopped; but his wand lay on the ground, too far away for him to reach.

"You move," the voice said - "you die."

Dinas was curious - the voice did not belong to Professor R.J Lupin.

A few red bolts of magic streaked past them from behind, narrowly missing them by inches. Arven recognised that as the stunner charm. She was confused as to why Lupin would try to harm them. The three gals continued to run along the hallway, with Misty leading the way. They were about to reach the walkway connecting to the dungeons to the ground level when Arven felt a sharp pain at the back before stumbling forward. She had been hit by one of Lupin's random stupefy spells.

Misty turned the corner...too caught up in her own world to notice Arven getting hit and falling to the ground. She was determined to find out who the imposter was...it was not Lupin, he was never, EVER like this...

Rowena was still behind her...she could hear her footsteps.

"You," Dinas breathed.

Stepping out of the shadows came former Professor Bruno Archibald.

Only he was not just a former professor at Hogwarts.

Bruno Archibald was, in fact:

The Minister for Magic.
