The Rebellion of Souls

A home for old scenarios who may have come to an end for RPG playing but whose life and excitement can still be enjoyed in story form.

Headmistress McGonagall was sitting in a comfortable chair, listening intently to Gringott, and if she had an unquenchable thirst for his voice.

He really felt quite awkward.

Nobody ever actually wanted to listen to him.

That's what made it fun...

"Come on," Ian said as they walked by the headmistress' office, "wanna listen in?"

"Um... not rea-"

"What are you two doing here!" a Slytherin prefect yelled.

"Well thank you for your time, my lord," said Professor McGonagall.

"Likewise," Lord Gringott nodded his head. "I will require two students that I must say I have gotten quite fond of in a very short space of time, to help me on my journey."

"Students? We could supply you with a member of staff, any of which I'm sure would be happy to volunteer after I tell them to."

"I'm sure they would... but no, students I require. Miss Stephanie Weasley and Ian Potter."

"A Weasley and a Potter? Surely not? They must be kept safe, these are dangerous times for any member of that family."

"So you've said. But nevertheless, it must be them. We must keep the knowledge of this very, veru quiet. I've told enough people already."

"Well... so be it then. When will you leave?"

"In 10 hours time. I trust they'll be prepared?"

"I'll send a notice for them to report to my office over breakfast. Which is soon, coincedentally. I must be getting down to it, I'm afraid."

"Ah, yes... so be it. Thank you for your time, headmistress."

"Not a worry. Good luck."

Gringott inclined his head, turned, and walked to the door. He opened the other door at the bottom of the spiral staircase and smiled at the gargoyle, when he turned around.

There was a young Slytherin there, wearing a prefect badge. He was harassing Weasley and Potter.

Gringott sighed.

When Gringotts sigh in a room.

Or a corridor.

Or a hall.

Everyone will hear them.

Gringott looked at the prefect.

The prefect ran away.

"Now," he said. "You should join your students at breakfast, you must be starved."

Steph walked down to breakfast and sat at the Gryffindor table next to Ian, she was just about to grab a piece of toast when she felt a tap on her shoulder..."Hi, Proffessor..." Steph said

Lord Gringott walked down the staircases and back into the old abandoned Hogwarts Library.

He remembered the days when it was the busiest most crowded room in the world...

Ah, sweet memories...

Steph turned to Ian, "We have to go with Gringott...we have 9hrs till we have to leave...Why does it have to be us???" Steph grumbled...all she wanted was to stay here and be normal...

Gringott turned right and walked down the first aisle. There were a few refence books that he read before he found what he was looking for.

"Almanack, Magical"

Ian turned to Steph, "We don't have to go you know? Remember what I said?"

"I know," Steph responded, "but I just have this feeling that we should go..."

Gringott turned to the page on Goblins.

He read it all.

He didn't like it very much.

He shut the book.

Lord Gringott walked around the grounds of the school for a while, wondering what the kids were getting up to. It was nice to smell the fresh air, again.

Doubtless they're coming up with some way to get out of it, he thought. If only fate wasn't an eternal cycle...

"We don't have to," Ian continued, "we don't," even as he was saying it, he continued walking toward the office...

"You're thinking about dorm mates at a time like this!" Ian almost yelled, "I'm at the verge of a philosophical epiphany, and all you can think about is your dorm mates?!"

Gringott thought he could sense the students' thoughts in the back of his head. They were probably quite close.

He wondered what choice they would make.

Would they run away, and have fate force them together again painfully and in rather unfortunate circumstances?

They would choose their own path, Lord Gringott said.

"And I shall choose mine," he mumbled to himself.

"Yeah well...they weren't in my dorm and I miss them...where's your friends???" Steph asked..

"I don't have any" Ian replied shyly...

"Ohk then...well we can run if you want...but then I think Gringott would no if we did...what if we delay time by hurting ourselves or something..."

T-15 minutes, Gringott thought.
