Two Major Deaths In Book 7???

Postby hagrid_fang » Wednesday 28 June 2006 12:30:04am

oh my god, i was reading the newspaper the Sun when i was at work this evening, and there i read an article stating that JK was going to definately kill of harry so no one else can pick the franchise up at all. I can't remember the whole article exactly so i will look again tomorrow, but it said something along the lines that she might withdraw from the idea as she doesn't want to anger fans, but that she most definately has killed off two big characters in the last chapter!! does anyone else know anything or heard anything about this yet??

An article from the times.

One character got a reprieve. But I have to say two die that I didn’t intend to die . . . A price has to be paid. We are dealing with pure evil here. They don’t target extras, do they? They go for the main characters . . . well, I do.

Now we get to former President Clinton. It all depends on what your definition of 'main' is.

Also, wether you think Hermione is Jo herself, and if so, wether she'd kill herself off.

I'm still not convinced she will kill off Harry on the basis of what she has said this week. The key is she says 2 characters she didn't intend to die, die.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were more deaths not just a couple. We can assume that LV dies, there must be these 2 characters she refers to and then possibly Harry as well. I reckon possibly Snape might get it and/or Wormtail.

I also think Bella won't last very long either especially as our Neville wants revenge.

well i found the article again, and now i've got home i think i've left it all at work!! I know, i'm an idiot! anyways she doesn't want all the hate mail if she kills harry so it appears that might sway her decision into whether she kills him or not, i honestly don't think that she will but you don't know what way JK might turn! as for the two who die, i can't even begin to imagine who's going to be wrote out! i'm so fond of every character that i'll just be sad to say goodbye to the world!

Yeah I've always said all along that I don't think she'll kill off Harry but her latest interview put doubt in my mind. I hope she doesn't but here's a thing... what if Petunia dies for Harry... She has got to have a part to play I reckon but what I just don't know.

I read the article in the Sun and also saw the interview. She didn't say she WOULD kill Harry but she said she can see how other authors would kill their main heroes so unauthorised stories couldn't be made. Completely out of context I think.

I just can't believe she would kill him off, he's been like a best friend to her for so many years to have him die now would be soul destroying for her. If I was an author of such a well-known series, I don't think I'd be able to do that.

A friend told me that in book 7 Ron and Hermione will die.
If you say that two characters will die I think she was right...

Voldie and Harry will kill eachotther, I'm sure. Than J.K. Rowling won't have to be under pressure to write more books in the series, but she won't have to leave the planet either. Do you think that she'll write more books after H.P.? :???:

IF she would kill Harry, Then that wouldn't be good for the movies, now would it? Plus, when she started the series she promised that she wouldn't kill the trio... but yet again, she also said that she would have a book come out every year. We know that that's balony. Still, if she killed Harry, people would be upset, the movies might not sell as good (exspecilly the newest one), and she'd be at the top of MY list  !

I agree to some extent on that. Yeah I think it wouldn't be a good thing to kill him off if she wanted to secure sales of books or films - also why would you read the books (if you were a new HP reader) if you already knew how it ended?

I would. Do you think that she'll write more books after this series.
