He couldn't because he was going to make that horcrux out of Harry and if his parents didn't die, but Neville's did, than there still would have been that threat only LV wouldn't have known about it because he didn't hear the last part of the prophecy.

Wouldn't harry have to be living to be a horcrux???? And since LV's main objective was to kill Harry this theory makes absolutely no sense whatsoever!!!!

The theory can also take into account the fact that Voldemort doesn't know about it...

Basically that Harry and Voldemort are fighting, and Voldemort's horcruxes have been dealt with.

"Ha ha.. I'm all powerful," says Voldy. "Die. Avada kedavra."

Green bolt... Harry dies...

And then so does Voldemort.

NOT.

Because Voldemort still has his original self.

If the horcrux is in Harry, he's stuffed...

They'd have to take each other out for Voldemort to die.

But you have to kill to make a horcrux so it would be just his body and/or ghost/soul/spirit!

Ok I don't remember anything about having to kill to make a horcrux! But than again its been a while since I last read HBP.
But still he could kill harry to make a horcrux, but then harry couldn't be the horcrux because he's dead.
I wish you would explain your thoughts better Godric, its always really hard to understand what you mean because you never fully explain it.

Yes that is rather nasty. But still, there is no valid reason why LV would want to make Harry into a Horcrux. His main objective is to kill Harry, we all know that, and that means that Harry cannot possibly be a horcrux.

And him doing on accident is possible but not likely. Harry is the one who's his threat, so if he made one why wouldn't he make it out of James or Lily.

He killed them so thats not possible either. We already know he used Ava Kedavra so accidentally making a horcrux from that curse would be very unlikely.

*sighs* am i the only one who remembers that you have to use a separate spell to make a horcrux? killing someone only rips your soul in half. a separate spell is used to put part of your soul into an object.

yes, but Harry's scar was caused by the Avada Kedavra gone wrong, not the horcrux spell!
