Do you know I really think it must be a hard life living as JKR! I absolutely agree - I hope we are not left disappointed with the writing in the book and if certain things have to come out then please, please, let the writing be good!

Examples of things that have to be written well:

Snape being good in the end. (If this definitely is the case, then please don't let it be corny!)
Harry dying: (Please make it well written!)
Harry living: (Please again - no corniness!)
Ron and Hermione/Harry and Ginny: (please don't make it too soppy!)

Also lots of dramatic scenes please!!!

What I love to read are the emotional scenes at the end when somehow it all comes together and fits. And they use something that we know has always existed to put to use in the climax somehow.

I'm leaning towards neville if i had to pick somebody, either him or Arthur. And by pick i mean who i think is likely, not who i want to see die.

i think it could be Draco - he failed the dark lord and failure isn't really an option. I'm guessing JKR hasn't got that far into the book yet so I think it the death (if the report was accurate) will be early in the book.

what if the death is Hogwarts? Not a human death, but an important and significant loss all the same.

Oh, I really hope it isn't Hagrid. He is too nice to die

And there I was thinking that the deaths of Sirius and Dumbledore were enough tragedy.

How about McGonagall? She's protective of Harry.

I must admit that did cross my mind. I actually wrote McGonigall and then scrubbed it and wrote Slughorn instead. I think out of the two though LV would rather get Slug as he is more of a trophy i.e. he's special because he knew LV's real story in a way.

Perhaps, but he seems less likely to fight. As Phineas Nigellus said: "we slytherins are brave, but we will always choose to save our own necks" or something like that.

Hmm, I always thought Slughorn might get killed off somewhere along the way.

Mostly because I assumed he'd been running for so long, that's a reasonably easy to predict that sometime or another, he's going to get caught up with.

I don't think LV cares if they try to fight back, look at Cedric, the gardener - his name escapes me at the moment. Yeah I agree I don't think Slug can run forever.

i think it could be snape, cos that would throw a spanner in the works, and make you think where JK's gonna go, which could make her husband say 'don't do that!'
