It also shows people so you could easily locate the other common rooms by the clusters of occupants.

Well, my ideas about an 8th book is great, i dont want harry potter to stop, plus i dont think anyone else would want it to stop. Harry potter is such a GREAT idea, why stop it when it can always expand?

I think that it needs to stop after the 7th book. Too much of a good thing can spoil everything. Also, I think if there were to be an 8th book, I think taht it would be a boook about how the rest of the world is dealing with the death of LV and the death of Harry Potter (yep, I'm one of those people that thinks he's going to die). So the 8th book would say what Ron and Hermione and Neville got up to, what happens to DD and the other teachers, etc. But I really doubt that there will be an 8th book, so all of what I just said doesnt matter! :P

I do think it would be neat though if there was a spinoff type series about the same thing but from someone elses view (Ron, Hermione...)

I really dont want Harry Potter to end, but it is pretty much guaranteed to end after the 7th book. The problem is that if JKR writes a book 8, then she will be committed to writing more books after that, too. The first 7 books are all dealing with Harry's years at Hogwarts. She cant just write a book taking place the year after he graduates, and then stop the series. With the books ending after Hogwarts, there is a more definate ending to the series.

As much as any HP fan doesn't want the books to stop, I am sure we'd all prefer 7 good quality books, than lots which deteriorate in quality due to lack of ideas.

Alright, pretty much the only reason im posting this is to give me something to do...im extremely bored...
The series is definately going to end after the 7th book. Theres not much else for Harry to do after he leaves Hogwarts. I mean, theres only so many times he can beat Malfoy at Quidditch before it gets monotonous. And theres only so many times he has the whole world hate him. Basically, my point is that if JKR kept writing Harry Potter, then the books would lose their orginality. At the beginning of an "8th book" there cant suddenly be a second in command to Voldemort who we have never heard of before that suddenly ends up being very important and killing the minister of magic and doing all sorts of horrible stuff. Harry himself would get bored with it after a while. Alright, ill stop repeating myself 1000 times and go back to perusing through month old posts... :)

:D Ravenclaw Common Room is in Ravenclaw Tower, located on the west side of the castle (Its in OotP).

I think that Hogwarts: a history would just be great. But remember Hermione??? The book has more than 1000 pages  ...

It would certanly be very hard to do (not so hard to read   )

I never thought of having a Hogwarts, A History book come out. I guess it could go along with those other books like Fantastic Beasts and such...

I hadnt really thought about that, but it's true. i mean while we would all like to know what harry did next, but i think that JK could cover that in book 7, obviously not a lot. But she could sorta say where they all went after hogwarts.
The whole part of harry potter is him having to fight off some big evil, and well if he's got nothing left to fight, ie voldermort is dead, it takes away a lot from the books.
And even if there was some sort of 2nd in command, or some new evil person then it would just become stupid. I know that the books are all fantasy anyway, but really how many bad things can happen to one person?!

As for 8th book I've heard that J.K. said there isn't going to be any after the 7th(I wouldn't wonder if HP died in it along with Voldie, and it HP would become very boring if he would fight with LV again and again) and book about Hogwarts, why not,it would be nice, but I haven't heard anything about it.

I really don't want an 8th book anymore, especially if Voldie (and or Harry) bites the big one in book 7. However, I do hope JKR creates an eplilogue so one can see how the character's lived "happily ever after". Now, it would be neat, to have an 8th book if somehow the story could be twisted neatly and cleverly with the same zest as before but with the characters all grown up. I really don't know how to explain it, but I guess if one took a gander down in the Fan Fics area, there are loads of "After Hogwarts" adventures and a some actually have neat adventures that actually build upon the various twists set by JKR so far. If years after the HP series was done JKR wrote another sequel, as a kind of quick back flash...a violation of everyone's expectations would be neat

Well, i dont really want an 8th book...it would ruin the whole 7 years at hogwarts because there is no 8th year. BUT....what i think would be awesome is if JKR would write the books from another character's point of view (like Dumbledore, so we could se what he gets up to all the time). Now, i know that this is pretty much an impossibility, but its fun to hope!

I don't think their should be an 8th book. Although I would love for there to be an 8th book, it would get kind of boring after awhile. If she ever does deside to create an 8th book i think It should include an alternent ending. Thats just my oppinion.

I wouldn't want an 8th "Harry Potter and blah blah" book. However, as stated before, I'd love to know more about all the character, all stuff JKR writes.

I heard she has "little" notepads where she writes things as she thinks about them. I know she has written almost all Sirius's entire life in of one of this notepads ! It would be so funny to know about other character's life before Harry...

i think she will because most people will write her lots of letter to ask her what job he got, does he become a headmaster, who does he marry and other stuff then no one would write her letters
