Mugglenet hacked?

Postby Petronella_Pettigrew » Thursday 3 January 2008 1:21:52pm

At the moment, it says mugglenet.com is "currently offline, please try again later".
This moring, the front page had been replaced by a photoshopped picture of a GoF film poster, with some mocking phrases at the bottom.

Apparently, there was an attached audio file that gave away spoliers about the last book. :o

Anyone know what's going on?

I just looked. That is weird. Mugglenet fan fiction is working fine. I've been on it all morning. Occasionally there are too many users on it and you get a black page with 'Avada Kedavra' in green letters and it tells you to try again later.

But I've never seen Mugglenet 'not online' before. :-? Hopefully it'll be fixed soon.

Does anyone remember when Mugglenet first got started? I remember reading about it in a Nickelodeon magazine. They interviewed Emerson when he was 12.

Oh no! A fellow fan web-site hacked! Does anyone know how Leaky is taking it? I know that they have a rivalry going on between them.
Who's Emerson?

The people on Leaky are being nice about it. They're sympathetic. Mostly, they feel bad that someone would take the time to ruin all the work people put into MuggleNet. Their is a small rivalry. But I'm on both Leaky and MuggleNet. Although I'm more active on Leaky. I only post comments for the articles on MN. I post in the forums all the time on Leaky.

Emerson is the guy who started MuggleNet. He started it when he was 12. I think he's 20 or 21 now.

One of the pet message boards I'm on gets hacked all the time. People need to come up with better uses of their time.
