Yes, Arun, and you
have been banned and will not be reinstated. You affected over 20 innocent members resulting in them being totaly unable to participate on the forum. All innocent parties have been reinstated now. Apologies to all for this incident occurring.

Thanks by the way to Siruk for posting this thread to let everyone know that things were not as they should have been. Also to Scellanis who first emailed me about the scale of the problem and to members who had also emailed about the fact they had been incorrectly banned.

He has just been banned not deleted.
It seems the people moderators ban show as Currently banned under their names in posts but when Paul bans them it doesn't show....

I think Arun is innocent. He had a friend come over, hack on, and ban people.
Is that his fault?

From Paul:
Whatever the reason may be, he has lost his chance. I've no way of telling whose fingers pressed the keys that did the banning but what's certain is that Arun's account was used. I can only act on the evidence I have, and don't have police powers to go into an in-depth investigation on this to prove his personal whereabouts at precise times of actions occurring etc. If he was foolish enough to let someone else find his password then it's sad but this should be a lesson before anything much worse occurs. He has already posted an "Angry" message on the other forum where (I've just noticed) he joined on 16th or 17th November (depending on your time zone). Interestingly that seems to be around the time that the rogue bans started to occur. He has stated he likes it on that forum "MUCH better than BaO" so good luck to him there. Taking that anger into consideration and all other factors (including, I regret to say, his myspace profile which does him few favours) I'm afraid he won't be readmitted to BaO.
And that's that.
Whether or not you are Arun, you know far too much about the situation for being new here.

Wait a second, if Arun has a dial-up connection, then won't his IP address change every time he gets online? So unless he has high-speed, he could have rejoined despite your IP ban. But the e-mail he sent to Crookshanks led me to believe that he was reastricted by the IP ban because he didn't ask for his account back, but rather for the IP ban to be lifted.
