i was bored, so i took a look at the memberlist. i saw that Paul was the frist member (duh). and after until about the 50th member, we didn't start getting people that posted over 100. and i noticed that i was the 120th member, which means that i was around a long time before a lot of people here. (yet you all have 3x my post count, lol). oh yeah, and i saw a lot of people with 0 posts with very funny names. if only they had chosen to stay...

not that it matters, but what do you think about how time flies when you're here. when i first joined, chocobo, sonkem, and a whole bunch of people were here, and now some of them are gone. it's just nuts when you think about it...that Paul is the only one here that's seen everything that's happened here...

anyway, post your thoughts (on the topic, why would i ever be looking at the member lists, or anything else) heh.

Yeah, I noticed that too. That just means the people with no posts are not nearly as cool as us. We rock!
Since I'm still a newbie, I can't really say much about "back in the day," but there's one thing: Others have always had a way higher post count than me, and that's how it's always been. Sometimes I check when they'd registered, and in a few cases, they registered after me! So that makes me feel kinda slow, but oh well... I'll reach 100 soon enough... hopefully. :(

I also see quite a lot of people who joined after me and have much more posts than me. But then, even if "real life" I'm more of a listener than talker...

Hey, TDM, you're not the only one looking into the Memberlist! I find myself looking at it sometimes too!

Yeah, Paul is the *older* in the registered time sense! But, of course, it's his forum: he set it up!!! I can't imagine how he feels seeing that what was once an empty place (like you say, the first 50 have few or no posts at all...) is now a full of life forum!!!

Thought it was only me who looked at the member list
I've not really been here that long, and already there are people who used to post a lot and i'd speak to, who have either just left, or had to leave for a specific reason. i used to find my post count rising really slowly when i first joined, then i stopped paying attention and i was all of a sudden at 1000!

You should be proud Sonkem. Soon you'll be 3000!  You're my roll model
I look at the members list often to see the situatuon and I find it really weird to become a membr and not post at all. Not even one little post! Why did those folks even become members? Anway, they don't seem muvh of a characters, so ... The forum is great now and I'm really thankfull to Paul for creating this wonderful place

Lol, its not that long since I finally managed to pass Holly Golightly again....she had more posts than me when I got to 2000

as far as I can remember Wedge and Rabid-chocobo were the top posters when i joined and I thought nobody would pass them but I did.....and I gloated and then Holly passed me and I thought that was it for me but nope...I'm top poster again now....I bet i miss my 3000th post...cos I wanna open a thread to celebrate it but i'll probably go post it in the welcome area or something.....

Thanks for everyone's good thoughts. :) It's quite amazing to think that humble little BaO has now become so active and probably one of the largest Harry Potter forums online . Every now and then I check out other HP forums and although some may have slightly larger numbers of people, BaO members seem to compare much better when it comes to average post counts per member (at least in places I've checked). I think it all comes down to (and proves) what I've often said - that we've got absolutely awesome members here. As well as an overall good community feeling, the statistics prove BaO is the place to be. :-)

You must be right Paul. I have never seen or been on something like this before but it is perfect and I wouldn't even consider looking for another forum.
This one take all my time

I'm a member of another HP forum too, but I don't post there a lot because people aren't as friendly and good as here! I really feel like I have friends here, you know, and not that I'm only talking about HP! :typing:

Thank you Paul!!!!!!! :circling: :jump: :circling: :double jump:

And sorry for wanting to see you in a kilt
