Choice of title after becoming a fully qualified wizard

Postby Lizzy Bennet » Sunday 6 July 2003 11:58:02pm

How did you choose your title once you hit 125 posts? :???:

For instance, Holly Golightly is 'Keeper of the Keys and Dancer of the Dances', Mint is 'Milady of the Night', Paul is 'Minister of Magic', gecko is 'Supreme Mugwump', I'm 'Angel of Music'...how and why did you choose your title? If you haven't chosen one yet, what possible titles have you thought of, if any? :???:

I thought this might be a fun thread to start to help those without titles to think of one and for those with titles to share how they came up with theirs. I chose 'Angel of Music' (a song from the broadway musical, 'Phantom of the Opera') because of my passionate love for music. :D

I play the clarinet (my trained instrument), I sing, and I play an ickle bit of piano. I love classical music, music from musicals, Radiohead, dance music (I love to dance), jazz, 80s music, Lauryn Hill, all sorts of music really! I love listening to it and I love performing it...it's my passion. So, I'm 'Angel of Music'. What's YOUR story?? :D

I think you request them from Paul, I've a good one I'd like (based on my name if that's a hint) but I shall keep quiet until then.

I am 'Supreme Mugwump' as Lizzy already said. I chose it for a couple of reasons. Firstly, Mugwump is just such a cool word! Then, as I was examing the hp-lexicon, I came upon it's entrance of the The International Confederation of Wizards ( http://www.hp-lexicon.org/ministry-history.htm l ), and I thought, perhaps that would be a cool job to have, if I was a wizard : )

So, there it is, why I am Supreme Mugwump! Also, I shall be maintaning the Code of Secrecy here, so watch out and don't break the code !

I figured as much  (though, I was thrown off by the mispelling), though I'm still confused as to WHY my name would be considered kinky!

erm
see, lot of ppl are kinda doing "sumfing" of the "sumfing"-type Fully Qualified Wizard titles;

e.g..
Holly Golightly
-Keeper of the Keys
-Dancer of the Dances

azn wizard
-Keeper Of The Moons

Mistress Siana
-Lady of the Storm
-Tamer of the Waves

Paul
-Minister of Magic

Lizzy Bennet
-Angel of Music

oh! and.....

Mint
-Milady of the Night =)

i dunno, i really want sumfing along those lines, but yeah... suits girls more

I spoke to Paul the other day about this, here;s how it goes:

1. You have to have hit 125 posts and become a fully qualified wizard before getting your title, unless I presume you become a Quidditch player and/or Prefect (moderator). This is why the head girl has only 80 posts.

2. You are allowed one title in addition to your fully qualified wizard status eg

Gwared
Fully Qualified Wizard and
Maker of Wands

3. Two titles are permitted to moderators (one is their mod title), but I am unsure about this part as I'm not a mod.

4. Title applications go through Paul

Incidently, Paul is about to poll the use of teaching positions as titles, as he was going to use them as moderator titles and that should be up today.

Here's the message Paul gave me incase I've been unclear anywhere:

Paul wrote:Hi Gwared,

Congratulations on reachinh Fully Qualified Wizard status!

Most of the multiple titles are breakable down into parts, for example wth Ladysnape:Fully Qualified Witch, Wife of Severus and Landlady of The Three Broomsticks

The Fully Qulified witch is what she kept after 125 post, the wife of severus bit is her custom title, and the Landlady of the Three Broomsticks is the title she has due to being Moderator.

There are a couple of folks who have a title with an "and" in it, where the bits of the title naturally go together one way or another (eg Slytherin Chaser, Lady of the Storm and Tamer of the Waves)

...No-one is X yet - If you wanted this one I'd have no problems - may be a good idea that I check if folks are OK with Teacher titles though, as at one point I think one of the Teacher titles was being considered for Moderators - we've had one non-Moderator teacher title before though, so it could be possible, but yes, I think it's going to be worthwhile doing a check in the next day or 3 to see how people feel about teacher titles first, so if you'd prefer to wait a few days there'll be a cleared answer on this one.
