when PSII just came out - they had a glitch in it. SO after couple of months they released modified PSII, withouth the glitch. ^^ I will get it once there is gonna be a cool game released on it. (thats what i did last time, and i was just in time for updated PSII)

Mint, may I ask you to divulge a little more info on this? Or perhaps even a link? See, a mate of mine is going to sell me his PS2 and he says that it works fine, but he just can't sell it to a secondhand store because it is an old one -one that he bought when they first came out. He says that they wont buy it from him.

What does the glitch do?

Should I reconsider buying the PS2 from him?

How can I tell if it is a glitched one?

I remember my friend telling me the earlier version can't play some PS2 games. Perhaps you should try out your friend's PS2 first before buying...make sure you can play the games you wanted to play esp the most popular RPG series - Final Fantasy series.

But I don't know more...Mint knows it...she is an expert in PS2! And an evil chicken priestess as well

Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg on GameCube. The hero has to wear a chicken suit and save the imprisoned chicken elders from....cats(?).

You hatch eggs to get power-ups. Very odd platform/puzzle game.

Nightcrawler - i looked on the internet for a link but it was so long ago that I guess those complaints are all gone. You may want to go to a PSII forum and ask there, im sure someone will know.

But as far as I remember - it didn't play 2-3 games (minor games, nothing like Final Fantasy or anything) and also as far as I remember it had some problem playing regular movie DVDs and you had to install additional CD for it to work propertly. (i think o_o) But you know what, if you are gettin a good deal for PSII from ur friend - than I personally would not mind the glitch. I think its minor.

Sorry to post again but I searched Gamefaq.com forum and one post mentioned the following -
Old PSII version is 30001. Second (good) version - 50001, brand new o_o version - 50003.

Chocobo Dungeon! Well, it is not actually chicken but chocobo...argh since Mint had said chocobo = chicken, then take it as a chicken!

I played the game before, and it is pretty cute and confusing...I always get stuck through the walkway.

Chocobo IS chicken Not even cause I had said so (which is a valid point), but because the chicken craziness in this forum started from chocobos by rabid chocobo who is on DA by the way (he just hasn't posted there lately <.<)

Star Ocean - well its like any other RPG. Super cool scifi/fantasy plot, beautiful graphics, cool characters Its one of the major RPGs from SquareSoft/Enix. ^-^ highly anticipated.

lol, its funny though. I am still at the beggining of FFX-2 XD I dont have much time for it <.< lol I'll be playing it for a year o.o Or just won't finish it ^^

I really hated FFX-2...I thought it was the worst Final Fantasy title I've ever played. Although I found it funny that on one of Gamefaqs boards when someone was asked whether they'd like to see a FF7-2 they said; "Sephiroth in his underpants? No thanks!"

o.o You do know there is an option to turn your game into a "wait mode"? It gives you enough time to think ^^

I agree though - real time battles is not my thing either. But u must get used to them if you want to play any following FFantasies - cause they all gonna be in real time now =D

If all else fails, there's always the option of cheating.

I do that sometimes. And no one has to know about it nor should they care.

FF games drags on and on...and i don't have the patience so I speed things up a bit.

erm...why not just hit the monsters with weapons/hand combat and ocassionally use magic?
I tend to press the action very fast lol...impatient

The "wait" mode only applies if you've already clicked an option...so if you leave it running without pressing anything...you get mashed!

It's a pity how they're making everything Real-Time now....I mean, I want to play games to calm down, not stress myself out because I can't press buttons fast enough!!!
