We didn't go yesterday - the cinema programme changed and Million Dollar Baby was later in the evening, so we had dinner instead ;). But I'll go soon!

I can't wait to see Charlie and the Chocolate factory. Tim Burtan was born to direct that movie.

Other movies I am eagerly awaiting:

Serenity (sci-fi/western based on the TV show "Firefly")
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Land of the Dead
Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
War of the Worlds
and of course, Star Wars: episode III, Revenge of the Sith!!!

Jonny Depp is a pretty good bad guy character...I don't like him so much a good guy character when it comes to films. Or maybe I should say, I have yet to see him in a film where he plays a good guy that I like. Sleepy Hollow was good...but could've been better...same with In Hell.(I think that was the film about the grim) Meg Gibson is my Star in films. I know everyone likes him...but its because he's so good.

yeah i've seen pics of harry potter 4., it does look good
but jonny depp is gonna be in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the trailor and the pictures look SO good. i think in this good- guy part he is going to be very very good. And, in Pirates of the Carribean he was very good, although..he was (more or less i guess) a good guy, kinda.

Well, Jonny Depp was portrayed as the good character but as a bad guy to other people. (pirates are bad) but he is a good actor.

Have y'all ever seen the original Chocolate Factory? It's some tuff stuff to beat. If it's made well and the acting is great, then it might have a chance to beat the original in favorites. But if the storyline goes differently or the acting sucks...the original is going to be the best...

I did like the re-make of Oceans 11. The original was good, but the re-make was just better made. What are other original and re-made movies y'all can think of?

Well this version of Charlie and the Chocolate factory is not exactly a remake, it's more like another adaptation of the book. Apparently this version is going to follow the book more closely and is going to be scarier!

I have high expectations for it. Burton loves to direct weird and creepy films, so he will feel right at home with this one. And whenever Burton and Depp get together, it's almost garunteed to be great. See Edward Scizorhands or Ed Wood and you will see what I mean.

As for Depp, he is really great at playing the part of the "weirdo". So he will be at home with this one too.

And Tween Luv, if you enjoy fantasy, you abosolutly must watch the LOTR films. Amazing director, amazing cast, amazing special effects, amazing story.

Star Wars is a good fantasy as well. Dispite what anyone may tell you, I think you should watch the original trilogy before you watch the prequals. The games are good too. The episode III game like it will be awesome.

As for remakes, I havn't seen the original Dawn of the Dead, but I absolutly loved the remake. Same goes for the Ittalion Job. And whilst my mother disagrees with me, I think that the original Nuttty Proffesor (with Jerry Lewis) is not as good as the remake.

I didn't like the American remake of Godzilla (1998) that much either. The cast was terrible and it focused too much on the humans. Zilla (as the American lizard is now known) wasn't as cool as his Japanese counterpart either. The scene with the young Godzillas was pretty good... if only it hadn't been done before (and better) with the raptors in Jurrasic Park.

Well, Charlie and the Chocolate factory isn't so much "scary"as it is "bizzare". Like all good children's stories, there are scary moments (such as the tunnel ride, the ceiling fan that almost slices up Charlie and the various punishments for the naughty children), however it's not supposed to be a scary film overall. I think most of the fear will come from the fact that the chocolate factory is such a strange place, that often strange, unknown things might happen. But it's not a horror film or anything. The original film kinda glossed over the scarier parts to make them more kiddie friendly. Imagine if the Harry Potter movies were made way back then. The Aaragog scene would have been shorter and probably less scary. When I said that this film would be "scarier" than the last one, I'm mainly talking about the overall atmosphere.

Another film that I'm looking forward to this year is King Kong. The original King Kong was the film that inspired Peter Jackson to go into filmaking, so I'm looking forward to it.

I went to see Valiant...very good film, it manages to be funny but yet rather educational since its aimed at kids but its actually telling true stories about world war 2 to the kids who watch it...may help them get interested in history.

The next film I want to see is Kingdom of Heaven...has Orlando Bloom in it so it should be a good film...plus, men on horses with swords...big battle...w00t! Kimmy film!
