I can only agree with Lizzy, though I wasn't around when the quiz was put together (holidays). What we have to keep in mind is that it's only a quiz, nothing serious to fight about!

I hope we (Ravenclaw) were able to give you some tough questions and if not, we'll try better next time! :P

As for Hufflepuff not having made the quiz for months, I hope you'll get the most questions right, so that you'll be the ones to set the next one! If you are, good luck on getting difficult ones, I wonder if book 5 questions will be allowed then?!

Apart from 1), I've never read FBaWTFT...luckily HW had a copy...yey for HW!!! :D

The questions are goodies I thought, trickier than I would have expected, but still very answerable.

(I may have got them all wrong, but as no-one else posts in our common room, I've had no arguements!)

Attack Gwared  *chews his leg like a hungry dog* Yummy Chicken
Yeah so did we, Got it the first day it came out.And we're very positive we got them too. Well gues we're not the only house that people are not helping with the quizzes... Hope Mint finds some Slytherin to answer it :P

sorry if i..um...annoyed you a bit......but i didnt have the book and i thought the question a bit strange so i thought it wise to say so....

i don't know what your moaning about...Holly made the quiz before the slytherins did im sure of it...Hufflepuff hasnt made a quizz for months...only one the entire time i been a member and obviously none before since there were only innactive members before i joined and one post in the hufflepuff forum.....

I'm not moaning...I simply was stating that we're doing our best considering we have lives, key people weren't available, and the quiz isn't our entire focus. :) I never meant to come across as 'moany', as I don't particularly care for moaners myself...in fact, funnily enough ;), that was my point...I felt like there was a lot of moaning going on about Ravenclaw's quiz, and yes, it bothered me. :) My apologies for anyone who felt I was rude--it was never my intention. :) Have a great weekend and best wishes with the quiz! :D

Just to clarify the first question, at holly's request the question has been changed to

1) Name all the beasts given a XXXX classification, which aren't defined as being dangerous.
(It was previously written as: Name all the beasts given a XXXX classification, which aren't really dangerous).

Holly has offered to give everyone another day for the answers, so the deadline is now 6.00PM British Summer time tomorrow (3 August 2003).

Good luck everyone :double jump:

I'm actually more worried about the question since it has been changed, it's more ambiguous now in my opinion.

I think the key is aren't defined as being dangerous. From how I understand it, you need to carefully look at the entire definitions and figure whether the definitions say they are dangerous or specifically say that they do have dangerous tendencies. I've made up a couple of examples below:

Belite
-------
Small flying creatures, similar to bees, but which bite instead of sting. Their bites cause loss of the left arm of the person who is bitten.

Grofulux
---------
A slender, two legged, tall creature with a long kneck and a head resembling a giraffe. Grofuluxes are extremely intelligent and have the ability of being able to calm dragons to such a point that the dragon will fall completely asleep. Grofuluxes are given an XXXX rating not because they are dangerous but because they should be treated with respect.

Duzzlop
---------
Duzzlops live in large communities of their own kind. They are the size of a small cat, with similar appearance but large floppy ears. Duzzlops will scatter in fear at the sight of any larger creature including humans. If a Their fur glows in the dark, and increases in brightness as they grow older. If a Duzzlop dies of old age it's fur is so bright that it can be used in place of a flame or torch to guide the way through the darkness, and is therefore much prized by wizards.

From the above 3, Belites would be dangerous, whereas Grofuluxes and Duzzlops would not. :-)
