Well we just got back from Home on the Range.
Emily liked it a lot and it is a cute movie.
Three cows catch a cattle russler
It is definatly a little kids movie but it is still pretty funny and like I said a cute movie.

Oh BTW they played the POA trailer in the previews and I saw something that I hadn't before. I also mentioned this in the movies section under the second trailer thread.
But when Harry is in the forset I think and yelling Expecto Patronum there is someone in the background. I think it is Hermione but you can't really tell because the figure is at least twenty feet behind him.
Go to harrypotter.com and view the trailer. The figure is in the back to the right of the screen as you are looking at it.

I saw Troy last night. Excellent movie in my opinion although I'm a little mad at the screenplay writers as they changed a few things from the book...grr....Overall, in my opinion, it was a brilliant movie (it helps to have Eric Bana, Orlando Bloom, Brad Pitt and Sean Bean in one movie though :) )

Last night we went to see Troy. It was a great movie but nothing really like the Illiad. Changes to the story started within the first minute. If you go expecting a good epic war movie and not THAT epic war I don't think you'll be disappointed. :P

I saw New York Minute last night! Unlike many, I'm a huge fan of the Olsen twins, but I still wouldn't have seen it if my favourite band hadn't made a cameo appearance in it.... drool. The movie itself was okay, though. A little bit flaky, I must admit, but an alright showing for your first silver-screen production in a decade.

Troy was good, not as brilliant as I expected. I think my love for orlando has kind of died a bit. I didn't actually believe it until after the movie, but I believe I may be a bit shallow . Brad Pitt and Eric Bana were waaaaaaay more attractive than orlando in that movie. For shame! Maybe it was the character he was playing as well... Wimpy whiney little guys don't really do it for me.

I was a bit peeved at the changes in the story too. It was supposed to be an epic, it was supposed to have gods and goddesses. The war with Troy was supposed to last years! and i just don't think they brought that to the screen well enough. My sister said to me "but wasn't the trojan war real? isn't it actually documented?" I have no idea. Does anyone else know? Because I was thinking it was more like an epic written by Homer. Or part of. I got The Odyssey out of the video store because i actually felt it was more entertaining, and closer to the original story, than Troy was.

Hugh Jackman is great. He was in the musical "the boy from oz" and he played a homosexual. A lot of magazines then wrote stories about how he was actually gay, and how there was trouble in his marriage and it was because he was truly gay, not just acting gay. He laughed off the rumours, but I think he did Van Helsing to prove his manly-ness, and his heterosexuality, and that he is a sexy beast. Haven't seen it yet, but i have my proof from the x-men.

Oh, yeah, X-Men 2 was great.

I found Van Helsing to be a pretty average movie. It was visually cool and all, but Stephen Sommers is not a particully brilliant director. It felt like it was directed by a 10 year old boy with ADD. Just fight scene after, fight scene after, fight scene. Just my two cents.

I'll be interested to hear your opinion after you see it.

Saw Troy - looooved that movie!!! The story was great (i didn't even notice that it was a long movie) all the actors were so hot XD

fierce - yeah, Orlando's role was erm....not that good.... >_<! I think the action of a person can add loads to his attractiveness.

I actually didnt mind them doing it differently from the book!! at least in this version not everyone died!! ^.^

Oh and the war - noone knows if its true or not. ^-^

They, historians, really think that the Trojan War happened their just not sure if the ten years, thousand ships, all for a woman, epic war of Homer is reliable. They are still excavating a site in modern Turkey that they believe to be the city of troy but they still haven't been able to prove it for sure.

I saw Troy today.

Brad Pitt was great. He was so unappealing and arrogant (except for the last minutes when he tried to "rescue" that girl, I pitied him a bit then), it was terrific. Paris also was awesomely whiney and stupid. I spent 2.5 hours enjoying a) loathing Achilles and b) blaming Paris.
But I liked Hector, he's prudent and brave and all that, you know. Poor guy.

There are a lot or at least some versions of the Trojan war. The first one was the Illiad (I hope it's Illiad in English, I know it as Illias) written by Homer around... 800 BC, I suppose. The war takes place in the 13th or 12th century BC. There are some mistakes in Homer's version, too, about Sparta and the weapons and so on.
Virgil wrote another version, and there we find the wooden horse. Homer didn't even mention it.
Then there are some other versions of later centuries (but all rather nonrelevant), for example describing Petraklos-or-whatever-he's-called as Achilles's lover, but that was a normal thing in Greek times (at least if it was a relationship between a boy and an older man).

After all, it's not proved that there existed a city called Troy or that the Trojan war did happen at all.
I think they wanted to make the film as realistic as possible (look-that's-how-it-could-have-been), that's why the gods and goddesses are left out. I suppose it's better that way, better than some tacky scenes with blurred figures and echoing voices. Would have been nice to see some decent gods, though.

Troy was so touching...man, I cried during the movie! (Maybe it is only me  )
Eric Bana is my idol now! And when did Paris learn to shoot arrows like Legolas. Must be the LoTR aftermath.

The Trojan War was a story??? I thought it was a real war with the wooden horse ploy and of course without the Greek Mythology stuff.

The troyan war wasn't a story - it really happened! We learned it in history class - it's a real event!!!

Paris is described as an excellent archer, he's rather deficient with a sword or spear however.
