I've never been to the Seychelles, the pictures look fab though. We went to Tahiti on the way back from NZ. That was stunning too but I'd suggest Island hopping for a few days in each.

We've been married 3 years now, we had a fab wedding and went to Florence and Rome for our honeymoon. A week in each and when we travelled between we took the Eurostar train across country. Stunning! Florence was lovely and very romantic!

yeah i agree i was in Seychelles for a week and it felt like we got to do pretty much - its a very small place, and i loved it so much - well actually it was my first time abroad so maybe the impression wasnt objective but i really think its so beautifull. i swore myself to get back there by their 50th independance day (if not sooner) which will be in 2026 together with children that i will probably have by then and who will be roughly around the age i was when i was there (ill be then almost exactly the age my parents were when we were there). hmm wonder if i keep it up...

Well, Seychelles Islands are a bit too far for me ^-^ I think I would go somewhere on the east coast of South America. :D

Snow_Flight - aww, i'm gonna have my 3rd anniversary in Sept., looks like we had weddings in the same year :D

Eurostar train - that must've been very cool, I've seen a program on Discovery channel about those trains.

Officially it's a few thou under 8 million, unofficially there's as many as 10 million people in London at any one time. The numbers don't count people who leave no paper trail, and there's a lot of those in London: mainly homeless people, a few "illegal" immigrants, embassy folk, spies, and a few criminals. The numbers also fail to count tourists, but the turnover of tourists is such that there's a consistently high number here every day of the year.

Actually yeah that's probably true.

Has anyone been to Madrid or Budapest? We're thinking about taking a short city break over a weekend and are trying to decide which one to go to. I don't think we'll be going for a couple of months yet but thinking about it now so we have something to look forward to!

Prague's nice this time of year, and the beer's 30p a pint at the current exchange rate.

I'd love to go to Prague. I think we've missed the boat though as I remember it was up and coming about 6-7 years ago. I heard it was very very touristy now, is that true?

Hiya Mint!

So where r you from? Are you South American? Yeah we got married in May 2003 in England where we are from! The Eurostar is really cool - it's just so smooth, you don't get much train noise at all (even quieter than being in an aeroplane).

Has anyone been to Berlin? My hubby has just thrown that idea into the equation. We're thinking about booking it for early August, any feedback on Berlin, Madrid, Prague and Budapest before the weekend would be great!! They are the top runners at the moment!!

I was in Berlin for one day some time ago. It's a very big city and there were a LOT of construction works taking place then. On the whole it's pretty modern, but there are some older districts too.

I've also been to Prague, it has a lovely centre with all the medieval buildings and then of course the castle! Do visit Prague!

Cool - Prague sounds like it might be a bit of a winner. Will have to work out whether we can definitely go now! I have heard about the castle - think I'll have to do some more research now!!

Thanks guys! :D

I've always wanted to see Prague, it's been at the top of my list for years, but I haven't got around to visit it yet. Click some pictures if you go there! But I've heard that Prague is awfully crowded with tourists during summer holiday.

Berlin is a city I've never really liked. It has a very special atmosphere that somehow wasn't my cup of tea. It has many great museums though, if you like that. It's a very historical place, and never in a good way, so depending on what kind of things you want to see, a trip to Berlin can be a depressing one. Though at the moment, people are still in a football-induced party mood. :)

Has anybody been to Amsterdam? I think it's my favourite city ever. I love the Netherlands in general, actually.

I loved Amsterdam. I wish we had been there longer (literally only a day/two) but did get to walk all round the city but not nearly as much as I would have liked as we went with my husbands work. At least we got to stay at the Pullitzer hotel featured in Oceans Eleven though which I have to say was pretty awesome. Went to Anne Frank's house which was interesting - for me I'm not normally into that sort of stuff but I came out feeling quite inspired for some reason.

Yeah Prague has been at the top of my list for ages but like you say you never seem to get round to it. I'm becoming quite keen on this idea now!

Interesting to hear what you say about Berlin - thanks! I never thought about it like that "It's a very historical place, and never in a good way". It must be hard for them to break away from the history - I do feel for the Germans on that as they really are desperate for people to forgive their pre-decessors.

Berlin is a place I'd like to go to at some point if only because my dad said he wanted to go there before he passed away 6 years ago. That will be hard for me in itself as it would be like realising a dream of my dad's. I'm determined to do as much travel stuff though as possible. My dad loved it and always said to me you should see as much of the world as you can and you should have fun doing it. I think we kind of had a special "free-spirit" connection in our family that made us act and feel the same way about stuff like that.

Where else in the Netherlands is worth a trip? The dutch are fantastic people and have a really wicked sense of humour that makes them really quite adorable!
