I mean Pratchett's best is Discworld, he usually adds roughly 2 books to it per year.

So, so, so, so, so agree.

Just cleaned off the series two weeks ago. Already waiting for the next one. "Making Money" it is... following the next YA one... called Wintersmith I believe.

Hiya! We're still trying to work it all out at the moment! We've got two weeks only but want to pack in a fair amount

Flying into Auckland though, spend a day there, then driving to Hamilton to use it as a base for a few days, then we're driving down to Wellington via Hawkes Bay, Napier and staying with some friends we have in Wellington. Then we're going to head over InterIslander to Picton to Kaikoura, Christchurch and then take Transalpine to Greymouth, then up to Nelson and back to Wellington to fly out.

It's a bit all over really. Does it sound like a realistic plan? It's so difficult to work out distances more than anything.

That sounds like an awesome holiday!!!

Well it takes about 2-3hrs I think from Auckland to Hamilton, and then from Hamilton to Wellington takes round 6hrs, but with stops It'll be more, and it takes 3hrs on the ferry to Picton, and 3hrs from Picton to Kaikoura, about 5hrs fromKaikoura to Christchurch. Not sure how long to Greymouth but going to Nelson would take ummm about 2-4hrs I'm not too sure...so yeah...you got yourselves a bit of a holiday there, Oh and I reccomend going to Riccarton Mall in Christchurch and whale watching in Kaikoura. Also In Wellington, (my hometown) I reccomend coming into Lower Hutt to Westfield Mall...(awesome shopping) and Rainbows End in Auckland (themepark). Lol!!!!

Well I hoope you enjoy NZ, it really is an awesome country, I love it here...oh and I hpe the weather's nice...its horrible at the moment, really cold and rainy. Been outside for this Duke of Edinborough training day...I'm getting a cold...

In an extraordinarily slow car, maybe. 2 and a half from Rotorua. 1 and a half from Rotorua to Hamilton.

Hamilton to Auckland... most of it's just the Auckland Motorway... very little driving on normal road, really...

Holiday sounds good, you seem to have a really good knowledge of the place!

:o Wow! You're taking the long way around, aren't you! :D

That'll be quite a long drive...it's 5 or 6 hours straight through the middle, but going through Hawke's Bay in the east...

If your going to talk about New Zealand you should do it in the New Zealand thread not the book ideas thread...unless you are going to write a book all about your journey?

Hmm, funny really. I was talking about NZ enough if the post, I did actually think it was that thread.

Snow Storm had been discussing everything else in the NZ thread so I just figured this was the same thread without thinking...

Anyway, back to books! I happened to be in Glasgow airport yesterday and bought The World According to Jeremy Clarkson (the bloke off Top Gear). I don't normally buy "life books" but I have to say it's really funny and well worth a read for a more adult reader I reckon but written in a very sarcastic and funny way.

Excellent :D
