Someone from Slovakia won a competition that I run on another site (actually he's won twice). He told me some of the country's recent history which I found quite interesting, and I learned a little more from the web too.

I think the way Europe and the former Soviet countries have changed so much, particularly in the last 15 or 20 years is really fascinating. The more you delve into the histories of some countries, the more you get to know about how the current world has been arrived at, as well as the peoples and different cultures ways of life. I like the way that countries have different types of architecture too, and the stories behind how things came to be.
