I own LOTR and HP and I honestly can't decide which one I like better.

:double jump: I have to juggle them!

LOTR is aimed towards adults and the book goes into a lot of detail, whereas in the HP books (aimed at a younger audience), something happens everytime you turn the page.

That is my opinion. I think you have to go into each movie at a different point of view. Since a lot of people stay young at heart, they can enjoy Harry Potter as much as LOTR. I know I love them both and am looking forward to the next movies!!!

Yes I have read: The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and I am working on The Silmarillion. I am a huge Harry Potter fan, and I wouldn't go as far as some to say that HP and LOTR don't even compare, but The Lord of the Rings to me is the most amazing book ever written. Tolkein is a literary genious, before Rowling's time. I recommend it for everyone under the sun!!

Also, I beleive that the LOTR movie was ten times better than the Harry Potter movie because it was true to the book and the fans.

I like Harry Potter the best I have to say, because when I am reading for fun, I like something imple and easy to read, because I just doing it for fun. I like the LOTR too, but HP just beats it in my mind.

My sister is trying to read the Silmarillion. She doesn't really understand it, so someone suggested she read it out loud.
